PROJECT SOS PROGRAM

LETTER OF INQUIRY

INTRODUCTION
The original Project SOS occurred back in 1999, when a group of Edmonton business leaders and philanthropists brought the community of Edmonton together to raise funds to purchase a first-ever police helicopter for the Edmonton Police Service.
Today, the Project SOS Program pays tribute to the Foundation’sroots and founders and is intended to support the EPS and / or Community Agencies with realizing a big idea—a major initiative or capital project that will advance the practice of community policing in Edmonton by demonstrating excellence, leadership, innovation, partnership and collaboration and will leave a lasting legacy of safe community to benefit all citizens in Edmonton.
The mission of the Edmonton Police Foundation is to be a bridge between the Edmonton Police Service and the citizens of Edmonton by raising funds to support priorities and emerging needs. Our vision, by becoming a valued and trusted partner of the community, is to help position Edmonton as the safest city in North America.
