This Bio Sand Nadi filter has dual benefits; one is gives quality safe drinking water and second gives cool water. The filters are constructed entirely with local materials, and require little technical expertise for use or maintenance.
JDS has its trained and experienced staff members in this project and have already installed Nadi filters in some villages. The current staff of JDS has come from different humanitarian organizations and has at-least 5 to 10 years experienced in Installation of Nadi Filters as they have worked with SEEWA-Pak, Association for Humanitarian Development and sent the team to install 500 hundred Nadi Filter of Tearfund-International. This is the example of our trained staff that they have added water storage Nadi in order to reduce the risk of contamination in it as it was not added in the previous models. The staff is quite familiar with all standards such as Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP), Sphere; Community Participation, LEGS etc. so we keep in mind all standards when implement the project interventions.
Addition to this, the organization has a very close relationship with the community by having known their tradition and cultural values and need. JDS has its own equipped office in Hyderabad to operate the project activities. Before preparation of the project proposal JDS conducted random survey in the targeted villages and found the need of Nadi Filters and on the basis of this project is designed with the community participation. In this project suggestion of inhabitants are incorporated and experienced of staff are also incorporated.
