Project Lead role

The Triangle Project is a fostering service newly registered with Ofsted, established by Adoption Focus and St Francis’ Children’s Society to enable the dual approval of Early Permanence carers. The project is grant funded by the Department for Education.

We are looking for an energetic lead with project management experience in a social care setting to drive the continuing establishment of the Triangle Project. Central to the role is a belief in the value of children being placed in family settings. You will have the ability to develop a new service that meets regulatory requirements. You will be able to plan strategically, set budgets and targets and develop the service within agreed timescales. You will have a high level of inter-personal and negotiation skills, including evidence of interaction with senior staff, external agencies and users. You will be able to use your knowledge of agreed partnership working and Inter-Agency arrangements to develop service opportunities. You are able to communicate clearly and effectively including writing and presentation of reports. You are able to establish strong working relationships with senior manager and trustees.

This post is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and therefore an Enhanced DBS Check will be required.

Location: Based in the offices of either Adoption Focus (Birmingham) or SFCS

(Milton Keynes) to cover the entire geographical area of operation

Remuneration: £250-£350 per day depending on skills and experience (Independent Umbrella or LTD Company)

Hours: 3 days per week for an initial 6 months (may be extended)

Responsible to: Registered Manager of the Triangle Project

Purpose:

To co-ordinate the implementation of the operational function of the Triangle Project, contributing towards positive outcomes for looked after children and their Early Permanence carers.

Professional Tasks:

1.  To work with the Registered Manager and Steering group to establish the operational function of the Early Permanence service in line with the business plan and service development priorities.

2.  To engage with Regional Adoption Agencies and Local Authority commissioners in the early identification of children who could be referred to the Early Permanence Service. This to include the preparation of tender documents; the completion of quality assurance documents and end of year reviews; attendance at review meetings.

3.  To participate in the strategic business planning of the Early Permanence service, including agreeing and reviewing annual objectives, service targets and financial targets.

4.  To participate in the identification of the staffing requirements of the Early Permanence Service. To participate in the production of job descriptions and person specifications.

5.  To report on service development progress to the CEO’s of Adoption Focus and SFCS, and to produce regular progress reports for the Trustees.

6.  To co-ordinate the development of the Early Permanence service between the two agencies including staffing, HR systems, financial systems, reporting systems

7.  To ensure the progress of implementation of the Charms database system and other systems and records.

8.  To attend practice forums and network meetings as appropriate
