Project Initiation Form (PIF)

The Process

  1. Department, Schools or Services contemplating building or refurbishment works of any kind can download a Project Initiation Form (PIF) here: You are only required to complete Section 1 of the form initially.
  1. After due authorisation by relevant Head(s) of Department, return the Form by email as a pdf attachment to ; or by internal post to the Office Support team, Estate Services.
  1. Upon receipt, Estates will issue a unique PIF number for use in all subsequent correspondence.
  1. A brief and costings will be prepared against the PIF and detailed in Section 2 of the Form, which will be returned to the client. (see example attached)
  1. You will then be asked to confirm acceptance and agreement of the brief and costings by signing Section 2 of the Form. On returning the form to the designated Estates Project Officer you are duly consenting to proceed with the scheme all as recorded.
  1. Fees will be chargeable in accordance with Estates’ new variable matrix, including any agreed charges for feasibility and abortive work.
