Project Fair Instructions

1.  Students will mingle for the first thirty minutes and meet with at least three different clients to discuss their project with them.

2.  At the end of this meet and greet, sign-up sheets will be made available for each project. By signing this sheet, students are committing to this project for the semester.

3.  Each sign-up sheet will have three spaces. There are more students than there are spaces available. I will work with each client to determine how many additional students to add to the project.

4.  Once the sign-up sheet is completed, copies will be made for each client, for Jim Marlatt and for each student on the team.

5.  Students/clients must agree on an appropriate day/time that will work for a regularly scheduled meeting throughout the semester before they leave the project fair. They must also agree on the best way to communicate with the client outside of this regularly scheduled meeting.

6.  See below for expectations that client companies and our students have agreed to follow during the project.

7.  Finally, I have attached the course syllabus for our clients so they are familiar with what is expected of the students during the semester. Pay particular attention to pages 6 through 8 for additional expectations I have of our students.

Expectations of Partner Companies

In order to help these projects run successfully, there are some basic ground rules we ask our partner companies to follow:

·  Assign a contact person for the project to act as project manager for your organization. This person should be able to meet with their student team at least once every other week.

·  Commit to a response time of 3 business days to student inquiries.

Expectations of Our Students

In return, students are expected to:

·  Assign a project manager within their team to manage project communications and provide project status reports on a bi‐weekly basis.

·  Requests for information will be at least 3 business days in advance.

·  Respond to your questions within 3 business days.

·  Act professionally.

·  Respect the confidentiality of information provided to them, and

·  Present their findings to you both verbally and in writing as appropriate during the course of the project and at its conclusion. This includes both hard and soft copy of all project files.
