DECORATIONS

PENNSYLVANIA FARM SHOW

2014 FARM SHOW

NATURE OF WORK

·  The successful contractor shall fulfill all the Terms and Conditions set

forth in the “Project Descriptions and Requirements” and the “Invitation

for Bid”.

·  The successful contractor shall design, install, maintain and remove all

decorations as specified below

**NOTE: ALL DECORATIONS ARE TO BE CONSTRUCTED OF FLAME RETARDENT MATERIALS.

1.0 OUTSIDE OF BUILDINGS

1.1 MARQUEES

** NOTE: THE USE OF NAILS OR SCREWS IS PROHIBITED ON THE

MARQUEES! DO NOT DAMAGE OR MARK THE MARQUEES

IN ANY WAY!

A.  BUNTING

·  Decorate all outside marquees: three (3) to Main Exhibition Lobbies

(East, Main and West), two (2) to Large Arena.

·  Marquee; at Main Lobby of New Building and North Entrance to Equine Arena.

·  All bunting to be constructed with dura-lite nylon in a combination of blue and gold or equivalent material.

B.  SIGNS

·  Construct, erect and remove outside sign at CENTER marquee (Main

Lobby Entrance) along Maclay Street and main marquee to New Exhibition Hall.

·  The sign shall be 24’ long x 4’ high

·  The copy to read:

Welcome to the 98th Pennsylvania Farm Show

“Pennsylvania Farms – Growing for You”

·  Construct, erect and remove sign(s) on the following outside marquees: Three

(3) Large Arena Entrances: (1 sign Northside, 2 signs Eastside)

· Signs to be 8’ long x 3’ high, faced with ¼ ”sintra and mounted on ½ ” x 3 ” white

pine framing with inkjet printing and a laminated finish

· Signs to read:

“Welcome to 98th Pennsylvania State Farm Show”

·  Submit sketches showing treatment of all marquees to Farm Show Director for approval.

2.0 LARGE ARENA

2.1 GOVERNOR’S BOX (GATE F)

Install the following by noon, Friday, January 3, 2014. Panels must be removed upon evacuation of the Governor’s Box on Saturday, January 4, 2014.

·  Decorate back wall with poly sateen fabric or equivalent material. Centered on back wall is to be the state seal. Seal to be four (4) feet.

·  Decorate front railing with fan(s)/banner(s) constructed of dura-lite nylon; in a combination of blue and gold.

·  Cover entire floor surface with 100% nylon pile carpet or equivalent material. Color to be mutually decided between successful contractor and Farm Show Director.

2.2 VIP BOX (GATE C)

·  Carpet surface with 100% nylon pile carpet or of equivalent material.

·  Decorate front and back rails as specified in 2.1.

2.3 WALLS AND RAILINGS

Furnish, erect and remove sufficient flag(s) and bunting to satisfactorily decorate the following

locations. All items to be in place prior to Farm Show Opening, Saturday, January 4, 2014.

·  Railings above the Vomitories

·  Portions of Upper Concourse Railing

·  Drape and skirt underside of six (6) Handicapped Platform Areas with forty- (40) inch satin

·  Two (2) Handicap Platforms at upper most concourse to have forty- (40) satin swaged along front and sides. Colors to be mutually decided by successful contractor and Farm Show Director.

·  Four (4) Handicap Platforms along main Concourse to have five (5) foot by thirty (30) foot banner. Banner to have Logo.

·  The copy to read:

America’s #1 Livestock and Rodeo Show

·  Final layout to be determined by the Farm Show Director

·  Swag and decorate areas above Gates B and D.

·  Drape and swag platform above Gate A & E.

·  Skirt all exposed sides of a 4’ wide x 4’ deep x 42” high Organ Platform to the Southeast

side of Announcer’s Box above Gate A with a poly sateen material. Color to be mutually determined by successful contractor and Farm Show Director.

3.0 RABBIT AREA (NORTHEAST HALL)

Setup the following by Thursday, January 2, 2014 and remove after 7:00 P.M. Saturday,

January 11, 2014.

·  Furnish, erect and remove signs depicting rabbit species as specified in

section 5.1.

·  Provide up to twenty (20) eight- (8) feet by thirty- (30) inch wide thirty- (30) inch

high table(s).

·  Tables are to have white vinyl topping with cloth skirt around all exposed sides.

·  Color to be determined by Farm Show Director.

·  Provide eight- (8) eight- (8) foot by thirty (30) inch wide forty-two (42) inch high

table(s) for judging. Tables are to have carpet on top surface with cloth skirt on all four (4) sides.

·  Color and location to be determined by Farm Show Director.

·  Provide up to two hundred (200) feet of eight – (8) foot high drape. Color to be mutually
determined by successful contractor and Farm Show Director.

·  Provide skirting around rabbit pens.

·  Provide 130 feet, 8 foot high of peg board hard wall barrier.

·  Provide 320 feet, 20 feet high color plastic for rabbit pens.

·  Provide 260 feet of white chain to barricade the rabbit pens.

4.0 COAT CHECK AREAS

Supply the following by 3:00 PM Friday, January 3, 2014.

·  Up to ten- (10) five (5) foot by five (5) foot coat rack(s) to be provided in the coat check area located in the Cameron Street lobby to the Expo Hall.

·  Up to thirty-five five (5) foot by five (5) foot coat rack(s) to be provided in Room 112 for use by the Farm Show ushers and Folk Dance Festival participants.

5.0  SMALL ARENA

5.1 JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SALE

Setup the following by 6:45 AM Tuesday, January 7, 2014 and remove following the event.

·  Provide twelve- (12) twenty four- (24) inch by wide eight- (8) foot long by thirty- (30) inches high smooth top tables covered and skirted on three (3) sides in white.

·  Provide Photo area for sale animals. Location and design to be mutually agreed upon by successful contractor and Farm Show Director.

·  Provide four (4) high stools for auctioneers.

5.3  WALLS AND RAILINGS

Furnish, erect and remove sufficient flag(s) and bunting to satisfactorily decorate the following

location(s). All items to be in place prior to Farm Show Opening, Saturday, January 4, 2014.

·  Railings above exits (North and South sides) to have three- (3) foot by six- (6) foot full

fan(s).

·  Upper Railing (North and South sides) to have four- (4) foot by six- (6) foot butterfly fan(s).

·  Eight (8) columns on north and south sides with full fans and pull down banners.

·  Two (2) column supports at east end of small arena with three- (3) foot by six- (6) foot full fan(s) and twenty- (20) inch by ten- (10) foot pull down banner(s).

5.5 SHEEP-TO-SHAWL CONTEST

Furnish the following by 8:00 AM Wednesday, January 9, 2013 and remove following the event.

·  Carpet ten- (10) foot wide by twenty five- ( 25)foot long by four- (4) inch high platform.

·  Provide up to six- (6), six- (6) foot by thirty- (30) inch wide by thirty- (30) inch high tables topped and skirted on three (3) sides.

5.6 GRAPE STOMP

·  8x12 stage, steps, skirted.

·  Carpet on floor 10x30

·  Five (5) tables, skirted, covered

·  12’ pipe and drape

6.0  EXHIBITION AREAS

6.1  PLAQUES AND FANS

Furnish and hang signage for all vendors including their booth number and company name.

Furnish and hang aisle signs throughout vendor areas.

Furnish and erect the following plaque(s) and fan(s) in the following buildings by Wednesday, January 1, 2014 and remove following the event.

·  Plaque(s) must be constructed of at least 25 point poster board with a finished surface and

be thirty- (30) inches wide, forty- (40) inches high x 3/32” thick and must depict various aspects of Pennsylvania Agriculture or animals as required. All plaque(s) to be double sided.

·  Serascreen lithoflex glass colors or equal must be used in the screen process.

·  Fan(s) to be constructed of sewn strips of blue and gold dura-lite fabric or equivalent material as specified in 1.A.

·  Sketches of the plaque(s), appropriate to the theme, must be submitted for approval.

A.  WEST BUILDING

·  Provide twenty-three (23) animal plaque(s) with three- (3) foot by three- (3) foot long fans on each side as specified in Section 4.1.

·  Location of plaque(s) and fan(s) to be mutually agreed to between the successful

contractor and the Farm Show Director.

Provide 20 feet by 8 feet high drape on Saturday, January 4, 2014at 8:00 a.m. at the blood donation area South East corner of the hall. Remove Monday, January 6, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. to switch to photo.

B.  NORTH BUILDING

·  Provide twenty-eight (28) animal plaque(s) with three- (3) foot by three- (3) foot long fans on each side as specified in section 4.1.A.

·  Location of plaque(s) and fan(s) to be mutually agreed to between the successful Contractor and the Farm Show Director.

Provide up to eighty- (80) feet of drape for Champion Row.

·  Drape to be twelve- (12) feet high, placed along Southeast wall between entrance to Large Arena and rollup door to Northeast Hall.

·  Color to be mutually determined by successful contractor and Farm Show Director.

·  Provide four (4) - eight (8) foot tables along the North wall for the PA Cattle Breed Associations between the Veterinary Office and the overhead door.

C. NORTHWEST BUILDING

·  Provide ten (10) animal plaque(s) with three- (3) foot by three- (3) foot, long fans on each side as specified in section 1.1.and 4.1.

·  Plaque(s) to be suspended over main aisle.

·  Provide eight- (8) animal plaque(s) with three- (3) foot by three- (3) foot, long fan(s) on each side. Hang on North and South wall(s) under Air Vents.

·  Provide 20 feet by 8 feet high drape on Wednesday, January 9th, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.

D. EAST BUILDING (POULTRY ROOM)

·  Furnish, erect and remove up to ten – (10) signs depicting poultry species as

specified in section 4.1. Plaque(s) to be flanked with blue and gold bulldog

bunting.

·  Location of plaque(s) and fan(s) to be mutually agreed to between the successful

contractor and the Farm Show Director.

·  Install a maximum of nineteen hundred (1,900) feet (all cages to be included) of pleated poly-satin or approved material around bottom of poultry cages. Height to be a minimum of twenty-four-(24) inches high.

·  Drape all Market Egg Display area(s) minimum forty- (40) inch high drape. Not to exceed seventy- (70) feet.

·  Top and skirt three- (3) eight- (8) foot long by thirty- (30) inch wide, thirty- (30) inch high table(s) provided by the Farm Show, for Poultry and Egg Demonstration Area.

·  Provide one- (1) eight- (8) foot by thirty- (30) inch wide, thirty- (30) inch high undraped table(s) for judges. Remove at conclusion of judging.

·  Provide six- (6) eight- (8) foot by thirty- (30) inch wide, thirty- (30) inch high table(s) for poultry display(s).

·  Table(s) to have white vinyl top with cloth-skirt three- (3) sides, four- (4) sides if necessary.

·  Exact location and color to be determined.

·  Provide twenty four (24), eight (8) foot table for Farm Show Learning Stations with one hundred (100) feet of drape.

·  Provide sixteen (16) feet of forty (40) inch skirting for two (2) incubators

·  Provide sixteen (16) feet of thirty (30) inch skirting for Duck Pond.

E.  LEARNING STATIONS

·  Provide up to three hundred- (300) feet, of eight- (8) foot, high drape.

● Provide a maximum of one (1) table per station, eight- (8) foot long by thirty- (30) inch wide table(s) thirty- (30) inch high. Tables to have white vinyl top with cloth skirt on three- (3) sides.

F.  NORTHEAST BUILDING (1ST FLOOR)

·  Provide fifteen- (15) five- (5) foot by eight- (8) foot long butterfly fan(s) in ceiling as specified in Section 1.A

·  Location of plaque(s) and fan(s) to be mutually agreed to between the successful contractor and the Farm Show Director

7.0  MAIN HALL

Furnish and erect the following plaque(s) and fan(s) on the Main Floor by Wednesday,

January 1, 2014 and remove following the event.

·  Plaque(s) to be double sided and constructed of a minimum 20-ply sintra material

with inkjet printing and a laminated finish as specified in 1.A.

·  Fans to be constructed of sewn strips of blue and gold Duo-lite nylon fabric or equivalent material.

·  Sketches of the plaques, appropriate to the theme, must be submitted for approval.

7.1 MAIN FLOOR

·  Provide up to seventy- (70) Farm Show Logo plaques with three- (3) foot by three- (3) foot, long fans on each side East End of the building west to the Pennsylvania Market place.

·  Location of plaques and fans to be mutually agreed to between the successful

Contractor, and the Farm Show Director.

·  Fans to be same as previously noted.

·  Provide appropriate flags as requested around the Butter Sculpture.

7.2 RESTROOM AREA

·  Decorate nine (9) column(s) by restroom(s) as follows:

·  Use twelve- (12) foot high draping or equivalent material.

·  Install twenty- (20) inch wide by twenty seven- (27) inch long x minimum 10 ply sintra signs with inkjet print and laminated finish signs depicting the current Farm Show Logo.

·  Submit sketches, appropriate for the theme, to the Farm Show Director for approval.

·  Cover thirty-five (35) columns with twelve (12) foot drapery in the center aisles of the Main Entrance in the Main Hall.

7.3  DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE BOOTH – MACLAY STREET LOBBY

·  Carpet and pad entire Exhibitor area. Carpet to be 100% nylon pile or equivalent.

·  Provide a minimum of six (6) eight (8) foot tables.

·  Tables to have white vinyl topping with cloth skirt on three- (3) sides.

·  Provide eight (8) foot high draping as needed (up to 100 feet).

·  Color to be coordinated to compliment carpet.

7.4  LOTTERY

·  Provide twelve (12) side chairs and two (2) round pedestal tables in the twenty (20) feet by fifty (50) feet space.

·  Provide ninety (90) feet of drapery and fifty (50) feet by ten (10) ten feet carpet

·  Provide two (2) six (6) feet tables and one (1) eight (8) foot table.

·  Provide eight (8) rest areas.
