Duties and responsibilities

In order to ensure the successful delivery of the programme, the Manager must be capable of fulfilling the following:

Delivery Management

  • Motivate and manage a team of Co-ordinators to ensure focussed and outcome driven delivery.
  • Conduct induction, appraisals, training needs analysis and support the continued personal development of TBB staff.
  • Implement a plan for ongoing recruitment and management of sessional staff and volunteers to support the growth and sustainability of the programme as well as creating roles for young people
  • Be responsible for all aspects of the programme’s budget
  • Ensure all necessary risk assessment and child protection procedures are adhered to across the network of delivery.

Development

  • Manage and implement a target driven plan for participant recruitment in new and existing locations
  • Take a strategic approach to understanding the needs of young people in relation to the Twilight programme of activity and include appropriate youth consultation and feedback methods
  • Develop programme delivery and approach in line with consultation findings
  • Identify and develop appropriate pathways for young participants
  • Support partnership working, create open channels of communication between community members, young people, SSF and project partners (including corporate funders)
  • Develop an annual plan of events informed by youth consultation and programme outcomes
  • Manage and implement a communications strategy to support youth engagement, volunteer engagement, income generation, partnership working and programme/organisational profile
  • Plan for the long term sustainability of programmes and consider appropriate partnership working to support community buy-in and handover
  • Support the wider organisation in sourcing and securing funding opportunities (financial and in-kind).

Project monitoring and evaluation

  • Develop a robust approach to evidencing outcomes and gathering learning from programme delivery and impacts
  • Regularly monitor and disseminateevaluative feedback from participants, community partners, local agencies, delivery staff and other TBB stakeholders
  • Assess feedback to ensure that overall project aims and objectives are being met.
  • Ensure the integration of the UpShot online monitoring and evaluation tool across the Twilight Network to support reporting and evidence base
  • Complete and submit timely reports for all funders as agreed including quarterly and annual reports.

Person Specification

Requirements for post holder

Essential

  • Have experience of managing a team, project administration and delivery, preferably involving sport and/or other community programmes.
  • Have been involved with programme development
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, with experience of working directly with community groups.
  • Possess excellent time management, motivational and organisational skills.
  • Be educated to degree level or relevant experience
  • Have the ability to collect, collate and evaluate data, and produce meaningful and clear reports with constructive suggestions based on the results
  • IT literate and proficient with MS office applications
  • Have experience of working with young people and have an understanding of the needs of those from disadvantaged groups
  • Demonstratepartnership working experience and ability to build strong relationships
  • Must hold a current clean drivers licence

Desirable

  • Have experience of online monitoring systems
  • Be prepared to undergo clearance from Disclosure Scotland prior to being offered a position.
  • Hold an HND in Sports Development or equivalent
  • Have experience of Event Management planning and implementation
