JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine professionaland analytical assignments involving the practical application ofmanagement principles and techniques to routine operationalactivities.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  1. Assists in the management of assigned program or supervision of anoperational unit. Assists in the planning and implementation ofnew or revised programs, procedures, practices and organization.
  1. Assists in or conducts studies and analyses of programs,organizations, procedures, or systems of limited scope or assistssenior specialists in more complex projects.
  1. Collects, compiles, and organizes data pertinent to variousongoing studies. Analyzes, summarizes, and communicates thisinformation to appropriate officials.
  1. Assists in the preparation of final reports, recommendations, andother information resources for the improvement of theorganizational element or its programs.
  1. Assists in planning and coordinating administrative activities ofa program, such as assisting in the formulation and preparation ofthe organizations's budgets, grant proposals, and projectproposals.

  1. Consults with program head and administrative officials regardingpolicies, trends, and interpretation of data and program needsfollowing specific instructions.
  1. Conducts basic efficiency, time and cost studies and analyses ofwork processes and systems. Prepares simple statistical tablesand charts, staffing patterns, work flow and organization charts.
  1. Establishes effective communication channels and acts as liaisonbetween the program and officials within and outside theinstitution.
  1. May supervises clerical personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree.

EXPERIENCE: Two years experience in administrative staff work.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Elementary knowledge of reference and research methods and techniquesused in collecting, compiling, and organizing data and information; ofbasic methods and techniques used in organizing and conducting studiesand analyses or programs, procedures, and organizations; of basicanalytical and statistical principles and techniques. Skill in theuse of office automation software and its application; in operatingmanual and automated office equipment. Ability to establish andmaintain effective working relationships; to present ideas andinformation clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; toperform mathematical computations; to present statistical material inchart and graph form.

Except for qualifications established by law, additionalrelated experience and formal education in which one has gained theknowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of thework of the job class may be substituted for the education orexperience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 collegecredits being equivalent to one year of experience.
