Professional Development Activities Used for License Renewal

Professional Development Activities Used for License Renewal:

  1. All activities must be preapproved BEFORE the activity begins through the Employee Kiosk at NOECA.
  2. The evaluation of all preapproved activities must be completed at the Employee Kiosk at NOECA within 90 days of the completion of the activity.
  3. If the activity is not preapproved and/or the evaluation is not completed in the time frames indicated above – it cannot be used for license renewal.

The Employee Kiosk at NOECA:

Your license:

  • Is necessary to be employed as a teacher or administrator.
  • Requires professional development to be renewed.
  • The LPDC is entrusted to verify that you have completed highly qualified professional development.
  • In order to do that the preapproval and evaluation forms must be completed in the time frames described above.
  • If you choose not to follow the above guidelines, your professional development will not count toward your license renewal.

To Request Preapproval of PD Activity:

  1. Log into Employee Kiosk at NOECA
  2. Or go to school’s website  Staff  Professional Development and log in (meagles)  LPDC  Professional Development Activity Information  Employee Kiosk
  3. Create a Preapproval Request
  4. At top of screen choose IPDP tab.
  5. At left of screen, choose “Create Activity”.
  6. Complete all parts of form
  7. Be sure to choose a verification method
  8. When you insert your contact hours, it changes them to CEU credits – don’t worry about this but do remember 10 contact hours = 1 CEU. We count contact hours for license renewal.
  9. Be sure to include a description and activity focus. The LPDC does not know what the PD is about until it reads this form and this form should include adequate information that we know what the activity is about AND why it should be considered highly qualified for your position.
  10. Choose and click “Create Activity Request”.
  11. The request for preapproval is now sent to the LPDC and Donna will receive an email announcing that it is in the account and waiting for approval. The LPDC will address the request at their next meeting (2nd Tuesday of month).
  12. When the LPDC grants the preapproval, the activity form will reappear in your account.
  13. Attend the PD activity.
  14. After the activity (must be within 90 days), submit for final approval by:
  15. Scan and attach your contact hour form, log of hours, transcript. Everything must have a date (month, day, year) on it.
  16. Double check that the number of hours you requested is the same as the attached form. If it is not, please edit the hours in the form so that they agree.
  17. Choose “submit”
  18. The form is once again sent to the LPDC who will address it at their next meeting. After it is approved, it will once again appear in your account.
