Our Project's Idea :
Name of the project : Clean low profit production vs. Polluting high profit Production

Goal of the project :
- To write an argumentative article about generating electricity using polluting ways
( Nuclear stations –Heating stations using { coal – petrol } ), and providing it using ( water wheels - solar cells or wind mills ) .
- To study the ability of people to change their lives and use the clean – everlasting energy resources ) .
- To introduce a modern clean affective electricity producing way and Know what Other Schools think about it .

Why have we chosen this theme :
The number of people is increasing every day , The electronics are increasing as well , and day after day we need more power to serve the humanity . We quickly run to " Nuclear stations and Heating ones " to get the maximum amount of energy in no time, and then we spend much of it - energy - on stopping its negative effects on the environment , such as : Global Warming / Dangerous Radiation / The Depletion of Earth's un renewable Resources; instead of using the impolluting ways that will be affective for the human being , and safe for our priceless nature .
On the other hand , all what we have done during the last two centuries may fade by the power of the horrible “ sun storms “ which are enormous electric waves that can damage all energy generators around the globe, and keep us without electricity for about 30 years and may last for ever .
To give us hope scientists say that the only solution to prevent this disaster is to shut down all electricity generators for minimum 8 months before the storm arrives.
What we are looking for from other schools :
- What are the negative and positive sides of all Electricity Generators in your country ?
- Take a survey about which way is the most preferable to provide us with energy?
- How can we avoid such a disaster “ sun storms “ with the minimum lose that may affect us .
- What do you think we could do,if the sources of energy we are using now were completely used?
- If we were sure that they won’t disappear, but our " mother - nature" is being hurt, how could we apologize to her?
And the final question which is creative and a little far from our basic subject :
How far will we go using electricity with modern technology , ex: flying cars ….

In our country, we are being encouraged to use cheaper and cleaner sources of energy. Our government is concerned about the changing climate in our country. Right now we are experiencing drought in our country, and one of the reasons for this is the bad use of land, pollution by harmful gases from the industries.
One of the cheaper alternatives that is being encouraged is the use of biogas that is obtained from the waste material like garbage, cowdung, this is especially common in the rural areas, the energy produced can be used for lighting and cooking and it is very clean.
There is also an organisation in our country called the green movement, which is encouraging the growing of a plant called japhtropha, this plant is said to be a miracle plant that can grow anywhere with minimum supervision. it is said to produce a lot of oil which can even be used to even run vehicles. We hear the plant has been tried in countries like Japan with a lot of success. If this is true then we will be seeing the reduction of use of petroleum oil which is a major source of pollution.
Right now the government in our country is doing all the best to discourage deforestation and grabbing of forest land by some individuals.In our country we have kakamega forest, which is near our school, it is one of the few surviving rain forest in the world, recently some arsonists st part of the forest on fire. We believe the government needs to educate its people the importance of conserving forests and other natural resources. We need to save our world before we all perish. Thank you.

We can generate electricity by other alternatives for example:the magenatic and solar cells.Also we can produce electricity through using hydro power.That means using the water to produce energy and then this energy will be used to produce electricity.Another resource of energy could be the Kenitic power energy which means using the energy produced by winds.These kinds of power energy are very simple but they can produce clean power,they do not contiminate our environment,they can reduce the effects of global warming,air pollution,dangerous radiations.Moreover,they are renewable resources and they will not disapear in the future.

Group ( 2 ) : The Storm Idea
Before the storm comes to our country we need to get ourselves ready to cope with the destructions it will cause.The first thing to do is to find other resources of energy and activate them like:solar energy, wind power and the hydro power.In addition we should not depend totally on electricity in doing all of our work.For example we can use the natural coal for warming and cooking instead of using electrical cook.We can drink water without cooling it .In other words we should adjust ourselves from now by stopping using electricity for thing we can do with out electricity.

Electricity generators in our country increase yearly because the number of people also increases.
The positive thing about it is that they help people to do their work easily .Also they make roads glittering during the dark nights. We can say in general that electricity has become part of our life and even if we try to stop or minimize using it we can't.
On the other hand, electricity is not always the angle that helps us in the time of need, sometimes it is the evil which can cause harms to us and kill us. Electricity generators consume the energy of our planet. Not only that but also by using this energy, enormous of electrical waves are produced which negatively affect our poor planet, The EARTH. We think that the invention of the electricity has badly affected our planet more than developed it. Every year the numbers of the electricity generators are increasing and the planet energy has being consumed and we are afraid that our earth will face an immense explosion very soon because of this. Therefore, before these fears become true the whole world should think in alternatives for the use of electricity.
For our group, we think it is the time to use other alternatives for producing energy rather than depending totally on electricity. Solar energy is the first choice, because this kind of energy is friendly to the environment, clean and it will never harm the earth. Moreover, it is endless so we are not afraid of using it up.

Now it's time to tell you what we found when searching and looking for answers for our questions :
Electricity is the spine of the modern world and everything is being based on it , so it's too necessary to produce it , and because of the greed of the humanity , the human being has used all the way to save time and money , coasting the nature harmful depletion of its resources .
Woods cutting , oil burning , Nuclear experiments and other ways , all of them destroy the planet by decreasing the production of the Oxygen and food and also the depletion of the dioxide and monoxide carbon , causing different types of animals and plants to disappear , and spreading the dangerous radiation to start cancers and merciless illnesses .
Let's now talk a little bit about Syria :
Syria is not that much developed country , so producing electricity doesn't make a big problem , just some air pollution is felt .
The Syrian government always tries to find better ways , so now a days you find lots of solar power systems which are used to heat on the water for bathing and cleaning stuff.
Windmills aren’t used in Syria because it has no wind fields . However , the Water wheels are affectively used to turn water power to electricity .
To talk about the storm we say : To avoid such a disaster we need " The World needs " to turn off all electric generators for about 6 – 11 months to insure they don't get destroyed by the storm which generally flips the direction of the electric current causing the generators to take an everlasting break .However , this way isn't useful because the humanity can't live this long without electricity , so we'll have to find another way to give us entertainment and help , but it should be far from electrons and electricity , totally far .
The last thing we want to say is that our ancestries could pass through millions of years without all this Technology and Electricity , and we think that we can survive for any period , was it 6 months or even 30 years , it's not much difference especially with the unstoppable creative mind of the human being .
Here is the contribution by my students for the other projects :
Youth and their contribution to peace in a nation.
Actually , Our country Syria has rarely gone in to civil war , and youth's haven't participated in war after we got our independence from France in 1946 . However , Syrian youths were concerned about all problems happening in our Brother-Countries ,
Just like ( Lebanon , Palestine , Sudan , Iraq and Kuwait ) , and they had to do something which can prevent their Arab-Brothers from being killed .
Some of these attempts are :
- Donations all over the country to rebuild destroyed countries specially ( Lebanon and Gaza - Palestine - ) .
- Sending ambassadors to the UN and the ICJ and demand they come and stop the violence where ever it's happening .
Let's Now answer some more specific questions :
1 – Most of the students has experienced moments of instability , not because of war or similar issues , but because of School's test , or in another way : When the student studies all day and then he can't answer because of FEAR , he gets annoyed and unstapled for no less than a day .
2 – No one in Syria ever be discriminated by any person inside the country , Although many Arabs experienced discrimination in the European countries for their nationality (ethnicity ), religion , even language .
3 – Actually none of us has ever experienced discrimination , but we know that who is suffering from this issue always tries to prove himself , and he succeeds .
4 – The leaders often – not sometimes - misuse the young people , just like when they give them guns and weapons since they are 6 – 8 years old , and convince them to kill their parents and friends for " a greater purpose " Doing the right thing – protecting themselves from the devil " " as they tell these innocent children .
5 – Finally , Before the governments use the youths for spreading peace , leaders should have honest intentions , and deep faith in what they are doing to be able to cheer people to do the right things . Also they have to put some strict laws that prevents misusing of the builders of the future - our Teens and Youths - .
An important point comes here is that the government should distribute the resources fairly to all layers the community contains , because this way the person - Teen – won't have to steal and threaten anybody using Knifes , Guns or any similar instrument .
But the most effective thing is to corporate with the UNISCEF who should work hardly to stop these who are destroying the future and Bringing sadness to Earth .

Youth's dream job in Syria :
The most desired jobs and careers here in our school at least are :
Being a Doctor: a lot of students want to study medicine in Damascus University because they think it is a great opportunity to gain respect , appreciation and money which will drive you in the end to have a safe , happy life .
Others think it is a great thing when you save a human life or when you help patients to win the challenge against illnesses.
Engineering : With its unlimited fields , engineering gives pupils a free choice to participate the domain they like , and in the same time to guarantee their future economically . And to be a little specific , Computer engineering college is a sweet home for these who love sitting in front of the screen all day creating programs , and those who like arts and have a spacious imagination that help them innovating new designs and creating alternatives , can find their purpose in architecture and civil engineering's colleges .
Law: Damascus University is famous for its law department that every year graduates many lawyers who are professional and ready to practice their jobs immediately.
Youths here in Syria mostly choose this department either for gaining reputation and money or because they've got low marks in high school .
Teaching: This job is very wanted especially from girls. Most of the students love teaching and enjoy dealing with pupils because they think it is a very important and principal matter to give the community a well-prepared generations , and take care of talented persons ; this way we can nearly ensure that the future of the universe is safe .
GENERAL INFORMATION :
For a long time , youths have dreamt of being doctors and engineers , that after a while they realized that it wasn't what they want .
Nowadays Syria is much more opened and new academics are choosing varied options to study , just like : computer engineering , décor designing , singing , philosophy and even Business administration which is the most recent field in our country .
So , Finally we should say that although there are other important jobs but Syrians like the jobs we mentioned above the most . However, they respect each worker whatever was his job because they believe that it is not shame to be a small worker in this big world, but doing nothing and staying lying on the couch is the shame itself .
