2. Course requests are for the following academic year and must fit into the KVCC course scheduling timeline.
3. High school is supplied with the official college syllabus and an approved KVCC departmental course assignment schedule (CAS)
4. Teacher submits a letter of interest indicating the intended course and unofficial transcripts to Director of Human Resources at KVCC.
5. HR places transcripts and letter in file on G-drive.
6. Transcripts and letter are reviewed by discipline dean and department chair to determine if high school teacher meets minimum requirements to teach course.
7. If minimum qualifications are met, the high school teacher will be interviewed with the KVCC department and may be asked to provide a teaching demonstration for the KVCC faculty.
8. Once the interview and teaching demonstration has concluded with favorable responses, the high school teacher will be considered a KVCC – high school adjunct and will be held to follow the same expectations of all other adjuncts. These include:

i. Classroom observations are held once each semester for the first year for every distinct course, then once per year for the following two calendar years, then once every three years after that. If no course is taught by the instructor for one year then the observation cycle begins again no matter where that instructor was prior to the gap. Observations are scheduled ahead of time at a mutually agreeable time with a follow up discussion within two weeks of the observation.
