Development of a model of Information and Communication Services based on the theory of purposeful systems

Summary. The paper is devoted to the development of a model of Information and Communication Services as the primary means for creating useful effect of information and communication technologies for the consumer in today's information society. The model is defined by the set of concepts necessary to formally describe any information and communication service. Also the indicators of limited resource efficiency are categorized to determine the quantitative characteristics of information and communication services. As a basis for the model the theory purposeful systems is chosen.

Keywords: Information and communication services, information society, indicators, efficiency, purposeful systems, limited resources.

Active energy equivalence conditions between receiving antenna and passive lossless antenna

Summary. The paper compares the active receiving antenna and concerted passive lossless antenna in terms of energy radio receiving system. We derive relations defining conditions of energy equivalence antennas taking into account all noises including receiver noise, which is a feature of the proposed approach (antenna and receiver are not considered separately from each other, but as a single radio receiving system). The analysis of the obtained relations and the results of calculations are presented.

Keywords: active receiving antenna, reflection losses, external noise, self-noise ratio, signal-to-noise ratio, noise factor, sensitivity, radio receiving system, low noise amplifier, radio receiver.

Assessing the energy efficiency of receiving active antennas based on a comparison with a passive lossless antenna matched receiver noise

Summary. The problems of estimating the energy efficiency of active receiving antennas are discussed. The approach is based on using as a reference matched passive antenna (or its equivalent - active antenna, energetically equivalent coherent passive antenna). Feature of the proposed approach is the consideration of the receiver noise (along with external noise and internal noise of active antenna) where antenna and receiver are considered not separately, but as a single radio receiving system. Simple visual evaluation form of energy efficiency is substantiated. The results of calculations are presented.

Keywords: active receiving antenna, reflection losses, external noise, self-noise ratio, signal-to-noise ratio, noise factor, sensitivity, radio receiving system, low noise amplifier, radio receiver.

Calculation of dual-reflector antenna with offset feed, using complex coordinates

Summary. The paper considers a calculation of dual-reflector antenna with offset feed, using complex coordinates. It gives an example of calculated reflector and subreflector surfaces of dual- reflector Gregory antenna system. The possibility to transform co-axial axisymmetric wave fronts by non-symmetrical reflectors is also shown.

Keywords: reflector antenna, synthesis of reflector antenna, reflector antenna of special profile.

Dynamic reservation of a radio resource in satellite communication networks by transfer of the self-similar traffic

Summary. The paper offers a solution for radio resource effective operative redistribution problem in satellite communication networks between active and passive radio directions. The optimum moment of an additional resource inquiry is defined taking into account statistical characteristics of the incoming self-similar traffic and size of delay signals management in a satellite radio link. The algorithm is developed and studies are conducted for cases of the communication organization through low channel satellite communication station when the incoming stream is formed by several subscribers; the process is described by interrupted poisson process.

Keywords: satellite communication, radio resource, interrupted poisson process, modulated markov process, nonlinear programming, dynamic reservation, self-similar traffic.
