Summary of Procedures for the Submission of a Postgraduate Research Thesis /

To ensure that your thesis is considered for the next Graduation Ceremony, please refer to the Schedule of Dates for the Submissionof Theses.

Procedures to be followed prior to and during the Submission of Temporary (First Submission) Bound Theses

  • Submission of Thesis Title and Recommendation for Appointment of Examiners Formis submitted and approved. This form should be submitted no later than one month before submission of your theses. Theses cannot be accepted by the Student Service Centre if this form has not been received and approved.A brief CV (template) of the External Examiner should be included with this form.
  • You have read and understood the Guidelines on Submission and Format of Thesisincluding the binding requirements for a temporary bound thesis:

Bound using the adhesive method of binding (not spiral bound or any other methods where the pages are not permanently fixed).

  • You have bound the Research Thesis Submission form into every copy of the submitted theses.
  • Submission of Thesis Declaration by Supervisor(to be completed by the Primary Supervisor only) accompanies the theses
  • Request for LimitedAccess to Thesis form accompanies the theses(Optional)
  • At least three copies of the thesis are submitted to the Student Service Centre at least four weeks prior to any oral examination that may have been arranged.

Procedures to be followed prior to and during the Submission of Resubmitted Bound Theses

  • You have read and understood the Guidelines on Submission and Format of Thesis including the binding requirements for a temporary bound thesis.
  • You have bound the Research Thesis Submission form into every copy of the submitted theses.
  • Submission of Thesis Declaration by Supervisor(to be completed by the Primary Supervisor only) accompanies the theses
  • Re-submission fee accompanies the theses.
  • At least three copies of the thesis are submitted to the Student Service Centre at least four weeks prior to any further oral examination that may have been arranged.

Procedures to be followed prior to and during the Submission of Presentation (Final Bound) Theses

  • You have read and understood the Guidelines on Submission and Format of Thesis including the binding requirements for a final bound thesis and the submission of an electronic version of the thesis (see below).
  • You have bound the Research Thesis Submission form into every copy of the submitted theses.
  • Internal Examiners Declaration form accompanies the theses
  • Abstract of Thesisform accompanies the theses
  • Two presentation (final bound) copies and one electronic copy of the thesis are submitted to Academic Registry (the latter being prepared in accordance with the Guidelines on E-Thesis Submission and providedon a suitably formatted CD-ROM and sleeve using theE-Thesis Submission Form)

Please note that the Student Service Centre will be unable to accept your thesis if the correct procedures, relating to the submission and format of your thesis, have not been followed.
