What will be achieved?
(10 Points) / Increased efficiency in the support of students, faculty, and staff. To help the only divisional assistant with wide array of tasks not limited to contacting students of cancelled classes, posting notices/assignments during absences, acting as communication backup during extremely hectic periods of the semester, FLEX, beginning of terms, end of terms, etc.
Justification: Why should this be done?
(20 points) / The workload for the sole support position in the Communication Division office is in need of backup. Currently this position support 17 f/t faculty (3 more to be hired), 60 adjunct faculty and a dean.Over the last 3 years, the workload for one person has increased greatly and affects all aspects of teaching and learning. This will also allow for greater contact with faculty, students, staff, administrators, and the community when they need information from our area.

(30 points) / Enhance Student Learning and Student Achievement – Though indirectly, the overloaded divisional assistant performance does impact student learning. With appropriate support, there will be more opportunity to assist those involved in student learning and the campus community at large.
Enhance the Effectiveness and Efficiency of Collegial Consultation. In addition to assisting faculty, administration, and students, the need for support for the sole divisional assistant will create more opportunities for collegiality and community.
