Dogan vs Cooper, J. A.

Note – One day after date I promise to pay to the order of John D. Dogan the just and full sum of fifteen and 25/100 Dollars for value received as witness my hand and seal this 13 October 1841

The Commonwealth of Virginia to C. W. Thomas, constable of Prince William County – Greetings: You are commanded to summon John A. Cooper, to appear before me, or some other Justice of the Peace for said county, at Brentsville, on the 15th day of January 1848 to answer the complaint of John D. Dogan for the non-payment of fifteen dollars and 25 cents, with interest, due by note. Given under my hand this 3rd day of January 1848 Jas D. Tennille

Judgment is granted the plaintiff for the sum of $15.25 with interest thereon from the 16th day of October 1841, until paid with 30 cents cost. Given under my hand this 15th day of January 1855 A. Howison

The Commonwealth of Virginia to, constable of Prince William County – Greetings: you are hereby commanded that of the goods and chattels of John A. Cooper you cause to be made the sum of 15 dollars and 25 cents with interest thereon from the 16th day of October 1841, until paid: which John D. Dogan before A. Howison one of the Commonwealth’s Justices of the Peace for said County, hath recovered against him for debt; also 30 cents for costs in that suit expended; and that you have the said debt and costs before the said Justice within sixty days, to render unto the said Dogan his debt and costs aforesaid, and have then there this writ. Given under my hand this 9th day of June 1848.

Pearson vs Smith

The Commonwealth of Virginia, To the Sheriff of Prince William County – Greetings. We command you that of the goods and chattels of Silas Smith late in your bailiwick, you cause to be made the sum of $3.00 with legal interest thereon from the 1st day of September 1847, until paid which Bernard Pearson late in our County of Prince William hath recovered against the said Smith by the judgment of a justice of the peace for debt also the sum of $1.52, which to the said Pearson were adjudged for his costs by him about his suit in that behalf expended; whereof the said Smith is convict as appears to us of record: And that you have the same before the Justices of our said County Court, at the Court-house, on the first Monday in August next, to render to the said Pearson of the debt and costs aforesaid: And have then there this writ. Witness, John Williams, Clerk of our said Court-house aforesaid the 14th day of June 1850, and in the 74th year of our foundation.

Bogne vs Wrenn

The Commonwealth of Virginia, To the Sheriff of Prince William County – Greetings. We command you that of the goods and chattels of Philip Wrenn late in your bailiwick, you cause to be made the sum of $4.00 with legal interest thereon from the 7th day of April 1848, until paid which William Bogne late in our County of Prince William hath recovered against the said Wrenn by the judgment of a justice of the peace for debt also the sum of $1.52, which to the said Bogne were adjudged for his costs by him about his suit in that behalf expended; whereof the said Wrenn is convict as appears to us of record: And that you have the same before the Justices of our said County Court, at the Court-house, on the first Monday in March next, to render to the said Pearson of the debt and costs aforesaid: And have then there this writ. Witness, John Williams, Clerk of our said Court-house aforesaid the 18th day of January 1850, and in the 74th year of our foundation.

Bullitt vs Thomas

The Commonwealth of Virginia, To the Sheriff of Prince William County – Greetings. We command you that of the goods and chattels of John Thomas and John M. Johnson late in your bailiwick, you cause to be made the sum of $15.00 with legal interest thereon from the 26th day of March 1847, until paid which Benjamin Bullitt late in our County of Prince William hath recovered against the said Thomas &c by the judgment of a justice of the peace for debt also the sum of $7.40, which to the said Bullitt were adjudged for his costs by him about his suit in that behalf expended; whereof the said Thomas &c are convict as appears to us of record: And that you have the same before the Justices of our said County Court, at the Court-house, on the first Monday in March next, to render to the said Bullitt of the debt and costs aforesaid: And have then there this writ. The Commonwealth of Virginia, To the Sheriff of Prince William County – Greetings. We command you that of the goods and chattels of Henry M. Jones late in your bailiwick, you cause to be made the sum of $6.14 1/4 with legal interest thereon from the 6th day of June 1849, until paid which Cole and Milstead late in our County of Prince William hath recovered against the said Jones by the judgment of a justice of the peace for debt also the sum of $1.52, which to the said Cole & Milstead were adjudged for their costs by them about their suit in that behalf expended; whereof the said Jones is convict as appears to us of record: And that you have the same before the Justices of our said County Court, at the Court-house, on the first Monday in March next, to render to the said Cole & Milstead of the debt and costs aforesaid: And have then there this writ. Farrow & Barton vs Underwood &c

The Commonwealth of Virginia, To the Sheriff of Prince William County – Greetings. We command you that of the goods and chattels of William Underwood and John Underwood late in your bailiwick, you cause to be made the sum of $77.88 which Thomas M. Farrow & William M. Barton, late joint merchants and partners trading under the firm of Farrow and Barton late in our County of Prince William have recovered against the said William Underwood &c on a forfeited forthcoming bond for debt also the sum of $3.02, which to the said Farrow & Barton were adjudged for their costs by them about their suit in that behalf expended; whereof the said Smith Thomas &c are convict as appears to us of record: And that you have the same before the Justices of our said County Court, at the Court-house, on the first Monday in March next, to render to the said Farrow & Barron of the debt and costs aforesaid: And have then there this writ. Witness, John Williams, Clerk of our said Court-house aforesaid the 18th day of January 1850, and in the 74th year of our foundation.

Kirkpatrick vs Creel

The Commonwealth of Virginia, To the Sheriff of Prince William County – Greetings. We command you that of the goods and chattels of William Creel late in your bailiwick, you cause to be made the sum of $5.00 with legal interest thereon from the 13th day of May 1849, until paid which F. Kirkpatrick late in our County of Prince William hath recovered against the said Kirkpatrick by the judgment of a justice of the peace for debt also the sum of $7.40, which to the said Creel were adjudged for his costs by him about his suit in that behalf expended; whereof the said Creel is convict as appears to us of record: And that you have the same before the Justices of our said County Court, at the Court-house, on the first Monday in March next, to render to the said Kirkpatrick of the debt and costs aforesaid: And have then there this writ. Robinson vs King

The Commonwealth of Virginia, To the Sheriff of Prince William County – Greetings. We command you that of the goods and chattels of C. J. King late in your bailiwick, you cause to be made the sum of $13.76 with legal interest thereon from the 15th day of March 1848, until paid which Enoch Robinson late in our County of Prince William hath recovered against the said King by the judgment of a justice of the peace for debt also the sum of $1.82, which to the said Robinson were adjudged for his costs by him about his suit in that behalf expended; whereof the said King is convict as appears to us of record: And that you have the same before the Justices of our said County Court, at the Court-house, on the first Monday in March next, to render to the said Robinson of the debt and costs aforesaid: And have then there this writ. Shirley vs Leach

We command you that of the goods and chattels of William Leach late in your bailiwick, you cause to be made the sum of $10.59 with legal interest thereon from the 1st day of February 1848, until paid which Thomas S. Shirley late in our County of Prince William hath recovered against the said Leach by the judgment of a justice of the peace for debt also the sum of $1.52, which to the said Shirley were adjudged for his costs by him about his suit in that behalf expended; whereof the said Leach is convict as appears to us of record: And that you have the same before the Justices of our said County Court, at the Court-house, on the first Monday in March next, to render to the said Shirley of the debt and costs aforesaid: And have then there this writ. Shirley late in our County of Prince William hath recovered against the said Templeman by the judgment of a justice of the peace for debt also the sum of $1.52, which to the said Shirley were adjudged for his costs by him about his suit in that behalf expended; whereof the said Templeman is convict as appears to us of record: And that you have the same before the Justices of our said County Court, at the Court-house, on the first Monday in March next, to render to the said Shirley of the debt and costs aforesaid: And have then there this writ. The Commonwealth of Virginia, To the Sheriff of Prince William County – Greetings. We command you that of the goods and chattels of Sydney B. Rust late in your bailiwick, you cause to be made the sum of $82.59 with legal interest thereon from the 25th day of December 1841, until paid which Harrison Cross late in our County of Prince William hath recovered against the said Rust by the judgment of a justice of the peace for debt also the sum of $8.47, which to the said Cross were adjudged for his costs by him about his suit in that behalf expended; whereof the said Rust is convict as appears to us of record: And that you have the same before the Justices of our said County Court, at the Court-house, on the first Monday in March next, to render to the said Cross of the debt and costs aforesaid: And have then there this writ.
