To register for Camping in the Zone Specialty Camps:

Review the camp listing and decide which camps to register for. Then go to the link for Camping in the ZoneSpecialty Campsregistration (accessible through the POPCS website at The on-line registration form must be completed in full. Select your camps by finding the appropriate week and then selecting from the drop down box. Hard copies are available in the front office.

The non-refundable registration fee of $10 is payable once per child when you register regardless of the number of camps enrolled in or if camps are added at a later date. Camp fees are paid upon registration and are refundable up to one week before the start date of the camp. Enrollment will be accepted until the start date of camp or until the camp fills.

Some camps have discounted fees for a 2nd child in the same family or for a staff child registering for the same camp. If that is the case, please register the 2nd child for the camp fee marked “sibling rate”.

Children who are also enrolled in Summer in the Zone (SITZ) full day care will be picked up by the camp instructors and taken to their specialty camp. The camp instructor will bring students back to SITZ. Students who are attending a specialty camp on the days that K- 5th gradeSITZ students are on a full day field trip will go on the SITZ field trip, unless other after camp childcare arrangements have been made.SITZ isnot able to offer onsite care of students who return from a specialty camp while SITZ is on an all-day field trip.

Should there be insufficient enrollment, a camp may be cancelled. Upon cancellation, parents will be notified immediately. Camp fees (not including the $10 non-refundable registration fee) will be refunded in full or credited towards another Camping in the ZoneSpecialty Camp.

Adventures in Minecraft

Team building, project management, problem solving, physics, architecture, economics, and more taught through world-building in "sandbox" games.

Art Boot Camp

Students will be guided through the exploration of various art forms while learning the fundamentals of art and design. Individual creativity will be nurtured and encouraged as children gain confidence in their skills as artists. Drawing, painting, printmaking, and/or sculpture/mixed media will be explored. All supplies are included.

Basketball Camp

This camp includes five days of basketball skills and leadership instruction.

Fundamental practice sessions focus on:

Bee Ready for Second Grade

Boys Just Want to Build

Let your inner architect out! Join our "hard-hat" zone creating an indoor carwash, Lego® castles, rockets, trains, and planes. From glow-in-the-dark building to indoor camping and frozen rescue missions, we'll engineer a fun-filled week at the construction site!

Calling All Girls

Twirl into the girly world of My Little Pony® (stables full!), Littlest Pet Shop® (over 100 pets) Barbies® galore, Zoobles®, Polly Pocket and more!! With dollhouses, treehouses, castles, boats and jets, we will create a one of a kind wonderland each day. We will design and decorate a playhouse, play dress-up, do fun girly crafts, and have a day of FROZEN® activities! All topped off with a cupcake decorating party!!

Clay Camp

Explore the wonderful medium of clay. Come and create your own ceramic pieces and also work with pre-formed pieces. Learn the different ways to work with clay using hand building techniques such as coiling, pinching, slabs and sculpting. Create your own plates and bowls, make a fantastical creature, a game board, or other 3D project. Your imagination will be the fuel for your finished art.

PLEASE NOTE: Some of the pieces will have to be picked up the week after the class ends.

Cool Dudes Camp

A camp for all "cool dudes" is back again this summer. Come enjoy a week with Coach White playing all kinds of games, sports, and activities that all cool dudes love to play: basketball, kickball, soccer, fuzzball dodge ball! We have a day just for Hotwheels® and Legos®!!! A special "cool dudes" field trip is always a highlight of the week. And don't forget our wet-n-wild day filled with lots of water gun action!

Cookie Monster Bakers

Measure, scoop, crack, and bake in cookie camp! We will bake a new cookie each day and take some home to share. Join the fun in our daily cookie jar guessing game and baking centers. Each little baker will take home a personal recipe book with all of our cookie creations at the end of the week.

For: 3-5 yr old boys and girls

A camp filled with all of the things every youth needs and wants to “create” the perfect summer. Our “creative” staff provide the instruction and all of the materials for everyone to complete a day full of projects. Your child will embark on a day creating projects with Lego®, learning the art of survival with survival tactics, theater arts, music, and art projects and techniques. Children will benefit by promoting self-esteem, motivation, aesthetic awareness, cultural exposure, creativity, as well as social harmony and appreciation of diversity. CR8 helps students to see what they look at, hear what they listen to, and feel what they touch. The main focus of this creative camp is to express feelings through imaginative, innovative and original arts and skills.

The Dallas Magic Academy: “Discover Magic”

Learn the true secrets of magic from a licensed professional magician. Discover Magic is a one of a kind program. In this course kids are given top secret file folders, custom tricks with full color instructions, and tricks you won't find anywhere else. Each student will receive a key code giving them access to an online video vault where they can review what they learned in class and learn bonus tricks. 7 Week Progressive Athletic Performance Training Camp:

Fashion Designer

Young girls graduate from playing dress up to creating their own designs! They will express themselves with their own fashion sense by following the same design principles used by professionals. This includes basic sketching techniques, coordination colors for the best effect and mixing textures and patterns for perception and scale. Cultural fashion history will be applied to all the girl’s individual style and portfolio. Designs come to life with beautifully patterned fabric, ribbons, sequins, jewels, and oodles of other embellishments. Collaborative “design team” challenges make this hands-on, minds-on adventure into the world of design very exciting. For your child’s safety, no sewing is practiced in this class.

Get your game on with glow-in-the-dark bowling, Life-sized Kerplunk, a day of water games (100s of water balloons!), board games, mini-pinball baseball, and Midway carnival games (with prizes!). We'll fill our days with exciting games, both classic and new , including becoming game pieces in our famous life-sized Candyland game - with candy, of course!

A camp for girls in K-3rd grade! We have an awesome week full of excitement and all kinds of girlie fun! We play girlie games and have make up time every day. Hot Wheels® World of Discovery/Play Doh® Science

Endless tracks and obstacle courses await every Hot Wheel’s® car lover as they discover the world of physical science. What goes up must come down…or does it? Momentum, force, and friction are just some of the concepts they will understand as cars acrobatically fly before them. Measuring length and weight in various units will help in the identification of the fastest, most efficient car on the block. iPad Camp for Students New to 1:1

It’s your first year with your own iPad at POPCS. What will you do!? In iPad camp, students will learn all the apps we use in school like Edmodo, E-Mail, iMovie, iMotion, Keynote, Google Drive, Google Photos, and more. Veteran teacher Mr. Weiss and his team of experienced technology helpers will give students all kinds of iPad tips and tricks to help them in school. Because of the experience and expert advice they receive, students in iPad camp will become technology leaders in their classrooms.
