Business Development Services Provider Specialized in Beauty care services
Overall purpose :
DRC is an independent, non-profit organisation devoted, on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights to securing the protection of refugees and internally displaced persons, and to promoting long term solutions to the problems of forced displacement. Operating since 2004 in Lebanon, DRC is currently delivering programming in protection, shelter, direct assistance, livelihoods, and community development interventions. Concerning livelihoods, DRC has implemented myriad programmes focusing on employability, support to business creation and Cash for Work. In 2018, DRC is continuing its support to 6 Micro/Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Bekaa supported with Business Development Training and grants ranging from USD 3000 to USD 6000. Following a quick training need assessment, it was identified that 2 from 6 MSMEs would need to strengthen their capacity in beauty care services. The MSMEs to be supported are small informal businesses constitute of one to ten employees working in beauty care services, hair dresser and barber shop.
DRC is looking for an experienced service provider (individual/organisation) to provide individual coaching and training on beauty care services to the identified MSMEs in Bekaa, Lebanon for a period of 1 month (12 working days). The service provider will have to develop and conduct individual coaching session with 2 MSMEs to train them on new skills in beauty care services.
Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of DRC livelihoods manager, the service provider will be responsible for :
Conducting a technical needs assessment on beauty care servicesfor each of the 2 MSMEs previously supported by DRC in sectors like: Barber for men, hairdressing shop for women
Developing a tailored learning plan for each businesses based on the assessment on skin cleaning, Laser machine, Nails care, make up
Conducting 8 one-to-one coaching sessions of 2 to 4 hours for each business with the businesses managers;
Reporting on a regular basis to the livelihoods manager on progress towards learning objectives and sharing attendance sheets.
The topics to be covered during the coaching session are but not limited to:
Training on new technics of skin treatments; nails care, make up, etc.
Training on laser machine (the Service provider must be able toprovide this type of machine for the training)
Review the business model of the business and advise accordingly on marketing strategies, services provided, product used, supply of goods and materials, etc.
Expected Deliverables:
The work will be conducted over a period of 1 month representing a total of 12 working days. The service provider will be expected to provide the following deliverables:
A brief inception report (1 to 2 pages) identifying the methodology
A learning plan for each business with detailed of coaching session
Delivery of 16 coaching sessions with attendance sheets;
Brief final report

Experience and technical competencies:
  • Previous experience in conducting individual coaching for micro-businesses;
  • Previous experience in delivering beauty care servicetrainings;
  • Previous experience with NGO work is a plus;
  • Strong beauty care services background.

Evaluation Criteria
After receiving the requested documents, the criteria of selection is specified in the Cover letter document under Best Value of Money, then the short listed firms with their identified trainers will pass through the Human Resources Department’s evaluation criteria that will be set during a face to face interview; the interview questions will be unified for all candidates.
Financial proposal must specify the following:
A detailed proposal for the services requested in the above objectives.
