- Shooting Investigation– 4870 Elmore Avenue, Webster Township

June 16, 2016

Today, with the assistance of a BCA sketch artist, we have a composite sketch from a witness to the shooting of our female victim at 4870 Elmore Avenue in Webster Township. The suspect is described as being 5’7” – 5’8”, medium to dark skin, slender build, about 150 pounds in his early to mid-twenties. If you recognize the person in this sketch, we ask you to please contact the Rice County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division at 507-334-4391. We also ask if you have any other information that would assist us with this investigation, to please contact us. We are offering a reward of $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and convictions of the subjects responsible for the shootings in this incident.

The identities of the three victims that suffered gunshot wounds at a party in Webster Township are:

  • Heather Nery, age 23 of Rochester, MN
  • Anthony Shannon, age 26 of Robbinsdale, MN
  • Montez Brown, age 24 of Minneapolis, MN

A fourth victim with a gunshot wound to his lower torso checked himself into a Burnsville hospital later on June 11th. He was transferred to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for further treatment. This person has been identified as Henry Brown, age 45 of Brooklyn Park, MN. All four victims are reported to be in stable condition today.

The initial investigation has revealed three known vehicles with gunshot damage and over 20 spent shell casings. Innocent people were put in harm’s way by the actions of some in attendance at this gathering. Our investigators are actively following up on information learned up to this point. The Sheriff’s Office is again requesting the assistance from attendees of the gathering or anyone from the general public that has information to assist us in our investigation, including anyone with audio or video evidence of the altercation or shooting. June 11, 2016

On June 11th at 2:58 am, Rice County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the 4000 block of Elmore Avenue in Webster Township. Additional reports came into the Scott County that someone had been shot. Deputies from Rice County, Scott County and Dakota County responded to the area along with officers from Lonsdale, Northfield, New Prague and Faribault Police departments and the Minnesota State Patrol.

Deputies and officers located a female victim with a gunshot wound to the upper torso at 4870 Elmore Avenue. She was treated by Lonsdale Fire/Rescue and Northfield Ambulance personnel at the scene. She was later airlifted from the scene to a trauma center and is in critical condition.

A Rice County deputy located another vehicle northeast of the residence. Upon stopping this vehicle, two male victims were found in this vehicle with gunshot wounds to their lower extremities. One was airlifted from the scene and the other was transported by ambulance to a metro area trauma center.

Victim information is being withheld at this time until family is notified, but none of the victims were from the immediate area.

Investigators and Officers continue to investigate at the scene and are attempting to make contact with witnesses that might have been at the residence at the time of the shooting. Initial information gathered at the scene is that there was a party with a number of young adults. A physical altercation occurred and then gunshots soon followed. Multiple gunshots were reportedly fired. The location this occurred was a large area with numerous items of evidence to collect and investigate.

“Our priorities are to locate the suspect(s) responsible for this dangerous incidentso that no one else is a victim of such violence and to bring resolution for the victims. “ This would also give neighboring residents their feelings of safety and security back in their neighborhoods.
