We are accepting applications for a full-time, standing position as Equestrian Coach in the Department of Agricultural Sciences.
Responsibilities: The Equestrian Coach is responsible for coaching intercollegiate riding teams and also for teaching riding classes. Assists with the care of the horses in the equine program and helps with all of the activities involved in the equine program. This includes continuing education and service activities to the region.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science or a related field and evidence of successful equestrian teaching is required. Successful work experience and horsemanship skills with English or Western horses and experiences with basic horse training is also required. The successful candidate must be articulate and possess organizational skills in both people and activity areas. A valid driver’s license is required. Must be qualified and willing to drive a large truck pulling a six-horse trailer to horse shows, etc.
Desired Qualifications: A Master’s degree is preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience and horsemanship skills with both English and Western horses is also preferred. Prior coaching of intercollegiate teams is preferred.
