Information has been received that 700 days to go celebrations of the Commonwealth Games 2010 is being organized on November 09, 2008 at Rajpath India Gate, New Delhi. An event car rally is being planned from MAN SINGH ROAD as under:-

MAN SINGH ROAD – T/L RAJPATH – 'U' TURN BEFORE JANPATH – RAJPATH - PRINCESS PLACE - INDIA GATE.

Since, this will be a well publicized event and more than 10,000 persons are likely to turn up to watch the show.

Cross traffic on Man Singh Road from 0000 hrs. on 08.11.2008 till 2200 hrs. on Sunday, November, 09, 2008 will be closed. 'C' Hexagon between Akbar Road and Ashok Road shall remain closed from 1300 hrs. to 1600 hrs. on Sunday, November, 09, 2008 . Janpath will be one way and no traffic from Rajender Prasad Road. Janpath shall be allowed towards Rajpath between 1300 hrs to 1600 hrs. Rafi Marg shall be available for North-South journey for general traffic.

People wishing to go South to North through India Gate Hexagon should take either:-

People wishing to go from North to South through India Gate – Hexagon can continue to do so. However, Janpath is not available to them for going from North to South.

Traffic arrangements to make diversions to guide the public have been made elaborately. Diversions shall be made to divert the vehicles from route of the Car Show. The public is advised in their own interest to avoid journey between 1300 hrs. to 1600 hrs. towards Rajpath, India Gate – 'C' Hexagon and follow the instructions of Traffic Police staff on duty.

DREADED sharpshooter CARRYING A REWARD INVOLVED IN MURDER cases IN UP & JHARKHAND APPREHENDED with country made pistol and two live cartridges

The South District police has arrested a notorious sharpshooter namely Pramod Kumar Singh @ Gautam age 24 years s/o Late Shiv Prasad Singh r/o V.P.O. Navli, PS Suhawal, Distt. Ghazipur, U.P. involved in several heinous cases including murder and attempt to murder in U.P. & Jharkhand from Saket area and recovered one country made pistol alongwith two live cartridges from his possession. He absconded from Ghazipur, UP by breaking the Jail and a reward of Rs. 5,000/- was declared by UP Police on his arrest. The accused alongwith his associates had attempted to murder one Sessions Judge namely Sh. R.P. Ravi of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

INCIDENT

On 07.11.2008, at about 6.30 PM, a secret information was received at Special Staff/South District office that a notorious criminal wanted in several heinous cases including murder in U.P. & Jharkhand namely Pramod Kumar Singh @ Gautam is hiding in Delhi and likely to come to PVR Saket. The information was conveyed to Sh. K.S. Bhatnagar, ACP/Operations/South District who constituted a team headed by Inspr. Vijay Singh, Special Staff/South District assisted by ASI Gynander Singh, HCs Shiv Kumar, Vijay Kumar Constables Vishvajeet, Mohinder, Raghubir and directed to position the team around PVR Saket complex in plain clothes alongwith the secret informer. At about 8.10 PM, one suspicious looking youth aged about 24-25 years entered the PVR complex. After signal from the secret informer, the youth was intercepted and overpowered after a brief chase. One country made pistol alongwith two live cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused and a case of vide FIR No. 44/08 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act was registered against the accused at PS Saket. On sustained interrogation the accused was identified as Pramod Kumar Singh @ Gautam s/o Late Shiv Prasad Singh r/o V.P.O. Navli, PS Suhawal, Distt. Gazipur, U.P. involved in several heinous cases in U.P. & Jharkhand.

PROFILE

On sustained interrogation as well as information received from U.P. & Jharkhand Police, accused Pramod Kumar Singh was found to be involved in several heinous cases in U.P. & Jharkhand. Accused had studied upto class 10th from his native place at Suhawal, UP.

·  In the year 2006 he murdered one Hakik Ansari of his village who had taken Rs. 1,30,000/- from the accused under the promise of getting him a job in CRPF and later on neither got him into job nor returned money.

·  In the year 2008, as under trial, he alongwith his associates Dheeraj and Anand absconded from Ghazipur Jail. After absconding from jail he narrowly escaped a shootout by UP Police at his native place and fled to Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. He joined the gang of Akhilesh Singh and Lallu Singh as a mercenary who was known as a sharpshooter Gautam.

·  Involved in one case of murder and three cases of attempt to murder at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand using fire arms alongwith his associates.

·  Associates Om Prakash Bhagat @ Bunty @ Vikas Bhaiya, Bhola @ Manoj Kumar Singh @ Mantu Singh and Anish Mishra @ Bittu were arrested at PS Golmuri, Jamshedpur in a murder case and got recovered One SAF robbed from Bihar Police, One Revolver .38 Bore, One Country made Revolver (Panja), One 9 MM Pistol (Regular), 3 Country made Pistols 7.65 mm, One Country made Sixer .32 Bore, Two uniforms of Sub-Inspectors of Bihar Police, Two hundred live rounds of different calibres.

·  Other three associates namely Jahid @ Sheru, Arshad @ Monty, Amzed @ Gaddi @ Kalli have been arrested at PS Bistupur, Jharkhand and got recovered One Country made Revolver .38 Bore (sixer), Two Country made Pistols 315 Bore and Six live cartridges.

The investigation is in progress and members of the police team are being suitably rewarded. The UP and Jharkhand police are being informed regarding his arrest.

Ø GANG OF AUTO-DRIVERS INDULGING IN ROBBING THEIR PASSENGERS BY CRIME BRANCH

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted a gang of TSR drivers and arrested four accused persons who were indulging in robbing valuables from TSR passengers.

HC Dinesh Kumar of Special Operation Squad, Crime Branch received an information about a gang of TSR drivers who were active around the Anand Vihar ISBT area. The gang would park their TSR near ISBT Gate and some members would sit in TSR posing themselves as genuine passengers. Their numbers would be 3 to 5, one would sit along with driver and remaining 2 or 3 would sit on passengers seat. As soon as TSR reaches an isolated place, they would pounce upon the victim passenger, thrash him and rob him of his valuables. A team led by Inspector Raj Pal Dabas and comprising of HC Dinesh Kumar, Ct. Rajender Singh, Ct. Harvinder Singh and Ct. Suresh was formed under the supervision of ACP Sh. Udai Veer Singh Rathi to develop the information.

After sustained efforts, the Crime Branch team finally succeeded in apprehending four accused persons from In Gate, Anand Vihar ISBT on 07.11.08 at about 5.15 pm. Their identities are as below:-

1.  Deepak S/o Neelam (24) r/o B-302, Meet Nagar, Main Wazirabad Road , Delhi .

2.  Tanni (21) S/o Banke Baksh r/o Village Pipraya Uprella, PS Siroli, Distt Bareilly, UP.

3.  Saleem (21) s/o Babu Khan r/o Village Bigeh Pur, PS Sasni, Distt Aligarh, UP.

4.  Chand Miyan (21) s/o Chanan Miyan r/o Vill Marera Sarif, PS & Distt Eta, UP.

The arrested persons are school drop-outs. Earlier, they were pulling rickshaws and one Satish r/o Pasonda, Sahibabad, UP, a TSR driver and enticed them to join him and formed the gang. These accused persons used to drive TSR between Anand Vihar ISBT to Seema Puri area and have committed 10-15 such incidents. The accused persons disclosed that about six weeks ago, they had robbed one such passenger of his cash RS. 8600/-, 2 mobiles phones and ATM cards. Not satisfied with the robbed cash and valuables, they further withdrew about Rs. 80000/- from the victim's ATM card. A case vide FIR No. 296/08 u/s 379 IPC is found registered with PS Seema Puri. the case has been solved with the arrest of the above-mentioned accused persons. The victim has been identified as Mr. T V Thomas aged 45 years, an electrical engineer with Jaypee Hotels.

The gang leader Satish was arrested by police of P.S. New Usman Pur under Arms Act in the month of October, 2008.

The following articles have been recovered:-

1. One stolen Mobile Phone make LG.

2. One TSR No. DL-1R-K-7530 used in the commission of crime.

Further investigation of the case is in progress.
