Press Release 6/10:
On Saturday June 8th at approximately 6:30 PM Kanabec County Deputies responded to the report of a shooting in rural Knife Lake Twsp. Deputies discovered that an argument between two groups of people had escalated to violence and one individual resorted to using a firearm. Four victims had escaped into the woods and the unknown suspect had fled before deputies arrived.
The four victims were treated for apparent wounds from a shotgun and released at the scene by First Light Ambulance.
Kanabec County was assisted in the search for the suspect by the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office, the MN State Patrol, MN DNR, and the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Reserve.
The suspect, along with an accomplice, was later arrested and is expected to be charged by Tuesday. The investigation is still ongoing.
