President Walt Smith called ourlast meeting of 2016 to order at the Franklin Steak House with 11 Rotarians in attendance.
Bob Peters and Barbara Hirsch presented JoAnn Salvio with a Paul Harris Fellowship Award for her club and community involvement.
We cleaned up some lose ends as far as Rotarians being assigned responsibility for speakers for up-coming months.
Barbara Hirsch reminded the group that next week's speaker would be Nutley's new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Julie Glazer. She asked each Rotarian to make an attempt to be in attendance and even suggested bringing a guest. We want to make a good impression on the Superintendent. It also gives the community an opportunity to hear the direction our new Superintendent hopes to move our district and to ask questions. Please make every effort to attend.
There were healthy conversations atboth tables. Sally Goodson and Dorothy Huey discussed a program with Goodwill. You can print out a label for Goodwill, fill a box with clothes, etc. and mail it free of charge. I think there will be more information on our Rotary Website about the program. If not, contact Sally Goodson or Dorothy Huey for more information.
