PRESIDENT’S CHATTER

It is great to be back caravanning with our club again after a couple of rallies away. Thanks to Ruth No. 1 for doing such a great job whilst I was away.

The September rally was once again breaking new ground with a rally at Melrose, followed by a tag-along to Rawnsley Park, with 15 vans visiting both destinations and from reports I have received all enjoyed the experience.

Our membership has been increasing with a large number of people joining, or indicating their interest in joining, ensuring the future of our club. This has been a result of existing members promoting the club through word-of-mouth or attending caravan shows, I thank all those involved. We have lost some members through the year for various reasons and their membership will be missed.

Our Defibrillator has been purchased and is in attendance at our rallies, being stored in the caravan that has our flag flying on its site. This is a safety unit that I hope we never use, however if it is needed please use it, it is extremely easy to use and will not let the operator make a mistake. We have a DVD that we will show from time-to-time showing how to operate it.

We have changed our logo to make it more modern, incorporating the Piping Shrike and also the year of our incorporation, with some new colours.

We have registered the digital format of our new logo with Marino Uniforms on South Road, Clarence Park, to enable members to purchase a garment from them with our logo embroidered on it, or you can use a garment that you already have and get our logo embroidered onto it. The colour of the garment is a personal choice, as is your right to have a logo on a garment or not.

A separate notice will be forward to each member with details and pricing for your consideration. Remember we are the Carefree Caravan Club, so the choice is yours. Our flag is on its last legs and a new one has to be purchased, we will use the new logo on this flag.

We have received our order for our 40th Anniversary wine - a nice Shiraz. We will be selling this wine at $60.00 per dozen. The club is not laying out any money and so not exposed financially. Profits from this will go back to the club, replenishing some of the money spent on our defibrillator. To place your order, talk to Tony Langley or Trevor Porter.

Beverley and I look forward to catching up again at Moana.
