Block of the Month- This years blocks were 12” blocks taken from Marsha Hohn's website:

Quilters Cache.

Charms- The theme was fabric design such as homespun, patriotic, Christmas, stars, black & white,

metallic, polka dots, flowers and batiks.

Quilt Challenge- Patty Frazier challenged the guild to each make a quilt for DVI to be presented at the June meeting. 11 quilts were picked by the guild to be featured at the 2014 Quilt Show; the Viewers Choice was made by The Friday Group (Donna Pozorski, Donna Sherk, Nancy Sutherland, Maggie Culbert, Maureen Light, Rosemary Stieg, Shirley Rudd, Kathy Foltz, and Geri Brock). Other quilts picked to be featured at the quilt show were made by Donna Pozorski, Kathy Chickey, Donna Martin, Trish Geeseman, Rosemary Stieg, Ann Anniboli, Sue Kline, Ann Davis, and Sue Mechura.

Community Service-The Guild donated the following:

1. Pillowcases to Hershey Medical Center- Year to date (Sept to May) - 1821

2. DVI- 180

3. State Police Quilts- 25 and 13 are being created over the summer

1 hung at the Academy, 1 will be hung at the Dept. Headquarters,

1 hung at the State Police Museum

8 presented to families of fallen State Police officers,

2 presented to families of troopers fallen during the war while employed as a Pa. State

trooper, and 13 are in the hands of guild members being created

4. Cornwall Manor- 123 items donated

Quilt Show-This was the 7th year for the Quilt Show held on Nov 22-24, 2014 at the Lebanon Expo Center Maureen Light and Amy Wissinger co-chaired the show. More than 120 quilts were displayed, including quilt challenge quilts, featuring an animal applique on the front and the community service projects (quilts made by members intended for donation to DVI), and quilts made from State Police uniforms that will be given to family members of troopers who died in the line of duty. The winners of the Viewers Choice Award were: Deb Klein (1st place), and Trish Geeseman (2nd place). 7 vendors attended. The show also had a gently used book sale and a make-and-take project (a wreath made from a shower curtain ring and fabric strips) and the silent auction were succeessful. The Quilt Show also featured “Do No Touch The Quilts” wall hangings made by guild members.

Fall Retreat- The Fall Retreat was held at Camp Swatara o Nov. 1-3, 2013 and was

coordinated by Joanne Baker.

Spring Retreat- The Spring Retreat was held at Camp Swatara on March 21-23 2014 and was

coordinated by Cathy Girvin and Debbie Newell.

Membership- Membership as of May, 2014 was 175 members.

Website- The Website is up and running and successfully bringing in new members to the guild.

Other Accomplishments-

1. The guild moved its meetings to the Grace Pollack Training/Community Center at Philhaven

Hospital starting October 2013. The guild is still waiting to hear from the IRS as to our not for

profit status.

2. Because the January, February and March meetings were cancelleddue to inclement weather,

the Guild celebrated its 30th year anniversary at the June meeting.

4 original members: Kitty Zackey, Jennie Woodring Louise Bell and Beth Kapp have all been

continuous members for 30 years and received lifetime memberships.

1 original member Audrey Knseal came as a guest for the evening.
