PREPARING FOR A BED BUG HEAT TREATMENT

IMPORTANT: Read Carefully

During the time required to heat your structure, the potential for damage to furnishings and fixtures is practically non-existent. The following precautions are required in order to protect items of a more delicate nature.

Heat Treatment Checklist

Please remove the following items from the home:

People, plants, and pets. Fish and/or tanks must be removed prior to service.

Medicines and vitamins.

Fresh fruit and vegetables, chocolates, wines, liquors, any and all medicines, and artificial sweeteners.

Wax based or paraffin based items (make-up, lipstick, candles, wax figures, crayons, etc.). In lieu of removal, small items may be placed in a refrigerator.

Antique furniture with a finish or fragile glue points.

Vinyl miniblinds and vinyl ceiling mounted fan blades. Remove vinyl items where possible.

Wooden and stringed musical instruments (guitar, violin, etc.). Please leave in case.

Prior to treatment, please complete the following:

Unplug all electronic other that refrigerator.

Remove picture frames assembled with hot melt glue from the wall.

Clothing present during the heat treatment should be placed loosely in laundry baskets to allow heat to penetrate with maximum airflow. Leave all dresser drawers open.

Waterbeds must be completely drained or removed to allow the time frame to reach the proper temperature. Airbeds such a Select comfort with electric pump must be deflated and unplugged.

Turn on the heating system to 90 degrees a minimum of 30 min. prior to our arriving.

We also ask that you collect certain items and place them into a box by the door so that they are not damaged during the heat treatment. These items include: all aerosols and pressurized cans, compressed gases, flammable or combustible chemicals, CDs, candles, wax figurines, oil paintings, musical instruments (like guitars), flammable products, indoor plants, seeds, bulbs, carbonated beverages or drinks under pressure and any other valuables that you may think could be damaged by temperatures ranging between 120°F and 150°F. Don’t forget!

It is the owners or authorized agent’s responsibility to notify our company of the presence of the following items: Fire sprinklers and heat sensors. Also, remove all batteries from smoke alarms and replace after completion.

*AmeriGuard Pest Defense assumes no liability for damage to structures not built to local codes, or for faulty gas meters, pipes, or wires. It is necessary to have access to electrical power. We are not liable for damage to old, oxidized, or improperly applied, peeled, or chipped finishes.

I/we the undersigned have carefully read, reviewed, and agreed to all the provisions contained herein and have acknowledged receipt of an exact copy of this two-page safety notice. In the event that I/we do not comply with the requirements of this notice, I/we agree to hold the licensed company/operator, and any others involved in the completion of stated treatment, harmless of any liabilities connected with this service.
