Notebook - you will need to keep a notebook with the following sections:

1. Handouts

2. Notes and Vocabulary

3. Daily - Worksheets, Written Questions, Study Guides, and Review Sheets

4. Quizzes

5. Labs–Labs not written in Composition Book

The notebook will count as test grades and will be collected at the end of every nine weeks.

Five points will be deducted for any paper out of chronological order or in the wrong section.

Ten points will be deducted for any missing assignment.

Class Rules

1. Be on time for class.

2. Be prepared.

3. Be respectful of others and their property.

4. No food, drinks, or gum

5. Read the student handbook and obey all school rules, polices, and the dress code.

Late Work

School Policy for late work states that when an assignment is turned in late, points will be deducted:

1 day - deduct 30 points2 days - deduct 50 points

Assignment will not be accepted if 3 days late

Makeup Assignments

Student is responsible for getting makeup work and arranging to take any missed tests.

The student will have two day for every one day of absence.

Grading Policy

60% Daily Work - class assignments, homework, quizzes, lab reports, and notebooks

40% Tests, Presentations, and Major Projects

Semester Averages - Semester exams count as 1/5 and each of the 2 Nine Weeks Averages as 2/5. If a student is exempt from the exam, each nine weeks will count as 1/2.

Retesting - The student will have an opportunity to retest during tutorials if they fail an exam.
