Lifespan Faith Development for people of all ages is one of our key ministries. Here young and old alike pursue spiritual growth through a personal search for truth and meaning – a search informed by our faith’s core principles and diverse sources of wisdom. Children may stay for the first part of the service then leave for classes. Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers.

The Center for Food Action accepts donations of these cards to support its eight food pantries. Cards are from ShopRite, A&P, Kings, Stop & Shop and Whole Foods retailers in denominations from $5 to $100.

Join the Q&A session on Sunday, April 27, with the Membership Committee on the Sanctuary stage after the service. Every Unitarian Universalist congregation has its own personality and chooses different ways to serve its members and the greater community. Come learn who we are, why we are, and what we hope to be. The informal meeting is just one of the ways in which Membership can help you answer the question “Is CUC the place for me?” Childcare is provided.

If you have questions about the Path to Membership or the meaning of membership at CUC, please leave your name, phone, and e-mail with the host at the Welcome Center on any Sunday. Lisa Horton, Chair, or a member of the Membership Committee will contact you directly.

CUC Circle Suppers

We are well into the second year of shared fellowship at Circle Suppers held at member host homes. We have heard much enthusiasm for this bi-monthly event, but are still severely challenged in terms of having enough willing hosts and cooks. If your home or apartment is small or not well suited for cooking for a large group, please consider hosting a meal only for six people and requesting that one of your guests provide the entrée.

If you are a guest, please consider offering to bring an entrée, one of the hardest parts of hosting a supper, so that the host can focus on getting their home ready for guests.

The next round of Circle Suppers will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Sign-ups will be taken in the rear of the Sanctuary on May 4, 11 & 18 or contact April Elsasser by May 18.

The Circle Supper (a bi-monthly which is held on the first Saturday of the month) program is modeled after old-fashioned small, social, potluck dinner parties. Groups of six to twelve adults gather on a Saturday evening at member host homes. The coordinators create varied groups of new and old friends, and contact the guests to inform about venue and what to bring.

PLEASE NOTE: We do need to you to sign up for each Circle Supper you plan to attend. Our members are busy people so we won’t assume that you are available for every supper date.

Start a box or bag of items for Rummage Sale week October 12.
Moving? Redecorating? Rummage can post the larger items on the Furniture x-change to sell within our community. Store your smaller items in a corner and mark them "For Rummage" and will remind you when to bring them to CUC.

By 1956, the congregation had outgrown its walls and moved to Paramus, changing the name to Central Unitarian Church (CUC). Our members come from all over Bergen and neighboring counties. CUC’s Annual Meeting – May 4

Plan to attend the Annual Meeting, May 4: All voting members of Central Unitarian Church are urged to attend the Annual Meeting of the Congregation on Sunday, May 4, at noon in the Sanctuary following the morning worship service and Sunday school. General Assembly

Register now for General Assembly in Providence: The General Assembly, the annual meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA), takes place on June 25 to 29 in Providence, R.I. Attendees worship, witness, learn, connect, and make policy for our association through democratic process. This is the last East coast GA for many years: Future GAs are scheduled for Portland, Oregon; Columbus, Ohio; New Orleans, and Kansas City. Everyone is welcome to attend, and congregations are urged to send voting delegates. Central Unitarian Church is eligible to send four delegates.
