PRACTICAL INFORMATION FOR DELEGATES

Airport Transfers

Transport will be provided at the airport to meet each delegate (provided you have informed us of your arrival date/time/flight number).

On emerging from customs, please look for a driver from the BeelineCompany. He will be holding a welcome card indicating “UGPN” and/or “University of Surrey”. Where possible, transport will be arranged to meet several delegates at once, therefore please be patient if a short wait is involved while colleagues gather.

Accommodation

The majority of NCSU delegates are staying at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Guildford Hotel

The majority of USP delegates are staying at the Mandolay Hotel, 36-40 London Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 2AE.

Guests arriving during the morning may be able to check in early but this is not guaranteed without booking and paying for an extra night the previous night (11 Sept).

Both hotels are located in the town of Guildford within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the railway station. Public transport is available within the town and to local points of interest, including the University. However, private transport will be provided to and from the University for the UGPN meetings as outlined below.

Wednesday 12 August

Depending on arrival time, transport will be provided from the airport to the hotels or direct from the airport to the University of Surrey. Transport during the programme is as follows:

1800:University Ivy Arts Centre to Drummond Arms, Albury

2100:Drummond Arms, Albury to Radisson Hotel and Mandolay Hotel

Thursday 13 August

The International Relations Office (IRO) is located on the third floor of Senate House, rooms 13 – 17 inclusive These rooms are designated “13 SE 03”, “14 SE 03”, etc.

Meals and refreshments

Three lunches, two drinks receptions, and two conference dinners will be hosted by Surrey during the event. Refreshments will be provided at appropriate intervals during the programme.

Thursday 13 August

1800 – 2030Drinks reception and dinner: Lakeside Restaurant (Management Building).

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Surrey, Professor Sir Christopher Snowden will attend the drinks reception preceding the dinner.
