SUBJECT: Revisions made to SOP affecting Out of Home Care

The purpose of this transmittal letter is to notify staff of revisions made to SOP regarding receipt of SSI benefits during trial home visits, documentation required when a Resource Home is closed, revisions made to the DPP-1292, revisions made to the Care Plus SOP’s, Employee Adoption, choosing an Adoptive family for a child and the DPP-AC-1 form.

  1. Receipt of SSI Benefits: These revisions clarify who is payee of a child’s SSI benefits when a child returns home or to a relative for a trial home visit. It also provides instruction for SSW’s regarding the notification process involved in changing a payee for this benefit. The SOP’s affected by this change are:

  1. Documentation for Resource Home Closure: When closing a Resource Home for any reason, ensure that a DPP-154A Notice of Intended Action is sent to the Resource Family. The SOP affected by this change is:

  1. Revisions made to DPP-1292: Minor changes were made to the DPP-1292 Information for OOHC Placements form in order to clarify and make the form more user friendly. This form may be found on the forms page on the Manuals website.
  1. Care Plus Resource Home: Revisions to this SOP include qualifications for families who wish to become Care Plus Resource Parents, requirements for SSW’s when placing a child in a Care Plus home and clarification of the SOP. The SOP’s affected by these changes are:

SOP 7E.1.5 Private Child Placing (PCP) or Child Caring (PCC) Agency

5. Senior Expenses: Revisions to this SOP reflect a clarification of the updated rate that a child may receive for graduation and other expenses incurred during senior year in high school. The SOP affected by this change is:

These revisions will be effective June 1, 2009 and will supersede all previous issued policy regarding these topics.
