Topic: Requirement for Mirrors and Fire Extinguishers
Question: I have questions regarding mirrors and fire extinguishers on trucks. Are they required?
Answer: The powered industrial truck standard does not require fire extinguishers, provided the site has enough fire extinguishers in terms of number and distance as required in Part 8. Portable Fire Extinguisher.
The powered industrial truck standard does not require mirrors. It does require that operators look in the direction of travel. It does require that operators have a clear view above the load.
