Dear Families:

Just a short note today to keep you updated.

The students in grades 5 and 6 went to Ecole St. Eustache last Thursday for the RCMP presentation on cybersafety. This is an important part of media awareness and safety for the students and many of the students commented on the impact it made on them. Hopefully, the messages will result in good decisions by our students. Great appreciation goes to Ms. Mackey, our social worker, for organizing this presentation for the students of SFX and Ecole St. Eustache.

Thank you for participating in our student-led conferences. We had a terrific turn-out and I enjoyed popping into classes and watching the students in action. It was also nice to be able to chat with a number of families. We hope you enjoyed having your children share their learning.

Last week, we had our Welcome to Kindergarten evening. It was a very busy evening with 6 stations for the new kindergarten students to explore with their parents. This program is sponsored by The Learning Partnership which is a not for profit organization dedicated to the promotion and support of public education in Canada. Thank you to Lisa Ullenboom for setting up the evening. We were fortunate to have the CKLC and Healthy Child Manitoba participate again this year. Thank you to the PAC for the snacks and our team of staff members for volunteering to run the stations. The final event was the chance for the children to sit on a school bus. It was great fun!!

A special thank you to Kindergarten mom, Cheryl, for the wonderful lunch she prepared for the staff on Wednesday.

Cookie Day was a great success, so please send money for cookies tomorrow to support the grade 6 camp. Hot Dog Day will be on Friday, April 21st and is also a fundraiser for the camp.

The next PAC meeting will be Wednesday, April 19th at 5:30. I will be updating the PAC about staffing, and requesting support for various projects. I am delaying having a meeting with interested parents about school plans and support until I have more information to share.

Best regards,

Mrs. Tiltman
