Dear prospective parent.

Thank you for considering Ermelo Christian School for the educational and biblical input into your child’s life. We are an independent school owned by Ruwach Ministries with the objective of training students in biblical character through academics, classroom procedures and sport. As such we strive to maintain biblical values within the school and expect the same from the students.

As a school we use the Accelerated Christian Education program. This program is, goal orientated, individualized, and self instructional, thus teaching the student to take responsibility for their own learning. But having staff on hand to help with understanding, procedures and monitoring.

As far as the application process goes, the following will take place.

  1. You are issued with a two page Application form which you need to fill in and return to the office, for processing. Please include “All” the supporting documents. This form serves as a starting point for the process. It also includes information of a general nature to help in making an informed decision.
  2. If there is space in the school, you will be notified to bring your child for testing (Reading Readiness or Diagnostic Test). Please note this is not an indication that the application is successful, only that a test will be done to see if the child will fit into the program. Should no space be available you will be notified by phone or SMS.
  3. After the test, an appointment will be arranged for both parents and the student to see the Principal and class teacher.
  4. After the interview you will be notified telephonically or by SMS as to the success of the application.
  5. If the application is successful you will need to collect the contractual application form from the office, and return it to the office with the supporting documents as soon as possible. On returning the above you will be given a student pack with all the details needed for your child to come to school.

Please note, a space in the school is only confirmed with the return of this last application form to the office.

General Information Sheet

When registering a new student into Ermelo Christian School, the following fees are required to be paid, as a once- off payment:

1.  Fees

  1. Testing Fees (To be paid prior to testing)
  2. Reading Readiness Test R150.00 per student
  3. Diagnostic Tests R200.00 per student

b.  Registration Fee

To be paid on submission of the contractual application.

  1. A registration fee of R 1 500 is payable per student. This fee is not refundable. However, should notification of application withdrawal be made no later than ten days before school starts, fifty percent of the registration will be refunded.

  3. Grade 8-9 R2390.00

These fees are inclusive of school fees, computer training and required academic books, but does not include sport outings, field trips, photo’s, etc.

2.  Activities

We do a variety of sports, namely Athletics, soccer, cricket, netball, chess, and archery. We are also involved in Jnr and Snr cultural conventions in which the students take part in numerous creative and performance items.
