ICDL 2006: Poster presentation guidelines

Poster Size: The material for posters should be laid out to occupy 60 cm by 90 cm space and will be attached to canvas display boards by pushpins or removable tape. Pushpins will be provided. This size is equivalent to that of about eight A4 sheets arranged in two rows containing four each.

Display Boards: Only canvas display boards and no other displays such as tables, tripods, or audiovisual equipment will be provided or allowed.

Display time: Contributors are expected to mount their posters for preview no later than two hours before the scheduled session, and at least one of the contributors must be there to answer questions and to provide additional information about the research paper.
Detailed timings of poster sessions will be sent with the complete programme schedule.

Reference Materials: Presenters may consider bringing at least 30 copies of a handout that contains the project title, abstract, student researcher and faculty mentor's names, campus addresses, and email addresses to distribute to those who would like the information.

The directions below are recommendations only:

1.  The text should include the title, an abstract, an introduction, the methods used, a discussion section, and the conclusions. Be concise and stick to the main points of the project.

2.  Text size should be no smaller than 14 points. This includes the text in illustrations and on graphs and charts.

3.  All authors and their organisations or other affiliations should be included on a banner across the top of the poster.

4.  If your poster can be accessed later on the web you should give the web site address on the top banner as well.

5.  The presenter for the poster should be indicated by a footnote or asterisk, which also appears on the banner.

6.  Use colour in your presentation to enhance the attractiveness and readability of the poster. Pictures and illustrations, where appropriate, are better in colour than in black and white. Mount printed text on coloured boards. Lay out the poster to flow from one section to another so the reader can easily read through the text.

Please note:

·  The best five posters displayed in the conference will be rewarded and the conference committee will forward the corresponding papers to reputed international journals.

·  Due to space constraint, only abstract of the papers selected for poster session will be published in the pre-conference proceedings.
