POST TITLE: Landscape Maintenance Operative

LOCATION: 71A Willow Road

DEPARTMENT: BournvilleVillageLandscapes

RESPONSIBLE TO: Landscapes Supervisor

JOB CONTEXT:

A)To provide a Landscape Maintenance service to designated areas ofthe Bournville Estate, in an efficient professional manner and in accordance with current Health & Safety legislation.

B)Promote and maintain a culture which places customers first and aims to deliver a high standard of service.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)To maintain all grass areas to required standard and timescales as set by Landscapes Supervisor.

2)To maintain all shrub beds in a weed free condition and to prune allShrubs and hedges to required standard as set by Landscapes

Supervisor.

3)To maintain all hard surfaces in a litter and weed free condition.

4)Equipment, tools, and materials are used in a safe and efficient

manner and in accordance with manufacturers instructions.

5)Tools and equipment are safeguarded against theft both on site and within the depot.

6)All defects of tools and equipment are reported promptly to your Line Manager to facilitate repair.

7)Time sheets are filled in accurately on a weekly basis.

8)To minimise non-productive time and to adhere to specified

breaks.

9)To carry out works for which you hold statutory certification as directedby the line manager and in accordance with relevant training.

10)To maintain an effective working relationship with all members of the Landscapes Team.

11) To participate fully in annual Appraisal System.

SERVICE SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:

This post will have responsibility for the landscaping at Lower Shenley.

KEY COMMUNICATION LINKS WITH:

Internal: All staff within Bournville Village Landscapes and Estates Team.

External: Residents / Tenants. Members of the Public.

WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT:

The post will involve working on the Lower Shenley development within the Bournville Village Trust Estate. However the post holder may be required to work at other sites or locations from time to time. The post holder will be required to work outdoors, in all weather conditions.The post holder will be required to drive a Trust vehicleand to use a wide range of tools and equipment. The post holder will be expected to wear all Personal Protective Equipment / Clothing as supplied by BVT.
