SOURCE OF FUNDS:

Proceeds from the Star Spangled Celebration fund distribution.

$500 per year – ongoing for 8 years through Class of 2020

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Applicants may be entering any field of study.

Applicants may attend a university, technical college or trade school.

Applicant involvement in volunteer activities shall be a prime consideration in the awarding of this scholarship.

Applicants must have attended Ithaca High School at least two semesters.

Only current school year seniors are eligible for consideration.

The Ithaca High School Scholarship Committee shall determine the scholarship recipient.

DISBURSAL OF FUNDS:

The recipient must use the scholarship funds within one year of receipt of the scholarship.

One-half of the funds shall be dispensed at the beginning of the first semester of attendance after showing proof of attendance.

Student must show proof of attendance/registration for the second semester and a first semester grade report to claim the scholarship funds. Student must be in good standing with the university, trade school or technical college. The student must have at least a 2.00 GPA.

Student not meeting the conditions listed above shall forfeit the scholarship.

RAY AND DOROTHY BUROKER SCHOLARSHIP

Source of Funds:

1998-99: Direct donation by Dorothy and Ray Buroker to Scholarship Account at IHS.

After 98/99: Interest earned on $10,000 trust donation established via a CD in the name of the School District of Ithaca by Dorothy and Ray Buroker. CD established at First Federal (now Associated Bank) in Richland Center. Co-signators are Cheryl Richards and Meredith Wallace.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

>Applicants must rank in the upper 50% of their graduating class at Ithaca High School.

>Applicants must have attended Ithaca High School for a minimum of four (4) semesters and receive (received) their high school diploma from Ithaca High School.

>Applicants may be attending either a university or technical college program.

>Any field of study will be considered.

>Financial need of the applicants will be a prime consideration.

>Open to current students and graduates of IHS. IHS graduates must be in an undergraduate program to apply.

SCHOLARSHIP DISPERSAL:

>Funds must be used within one year of the student’s graduation from IHS.

>Funds will be dispersed to the student at the start of the second semester of attendance. Student must show proof of registration for the second semester and must have a minimum first semester GPA of 2.50.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA:

Student must have applied to and been accepted at a university.

Student must be planning to pursue a career as a professional educator. Student can be pursuing the teaching certification at any level and in any discipline area.

Ability to complete his/her education based upon previous record and experiences, coupled with the sincere desire to become a professional educator.

Financial need of the student is a consideration.

DISBURSAL OF FUNDS:

Funds will be available following the completion of the student’s first semester by meeting the following criteria:

Student must show proof of registration for the second semester of school.

Student must show proof of a minimum GPA of 2.00 based on a 4.00 scale.

If the student does not have a 2.00 GPA at the end of his/her first semester, the student can access the scholarship if he/she shows proof of a 2.50 cumulative GPA at the end of the second semester of school.

Student will have one (1) academic year to access the funds of this scholarship or it shall be forfeited.

WILLIAM J. LOUIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This $500 scholarship is given in loving memory by the family of William J. Louis. Candidates for this scholarship will be evaluated by the local scholarship committee at Ithaca High School. Candidates wishing to be considered for this scholarship must fill out the local scholarship application and submit it to the local scholarship committee by the announced deadline date.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Must be a graduating Ithaca High School senior attending on a full time basis.

Must have applied to and been accepted at a technical college, trade school, or university.

Students in any program of study may apply. Priority will be given to thosepursuing Business or Agriculture-related studies.

DISBURSAL OF FUNDS:

Student must be registered as a full-time student at the technical college, trade school, or university.

Student may receive one-half of the funds ($250) at the start of the first semester of school. Student must show proof of registration for the first semester and bring it to Ithaca High School.

Upon proof of registration for the second semester and proof of satisfactory progress (2.00 minimum GPA) for the first semester, the student may receive the last half of the funds ($250).

RICHLANDHOSPITAL HEALTH CARE CAREER SCHOLARSHIP

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Applicants must be planning to enter a health care career field as a nurse, medical technician, doctor, therapist, etc. (1-4 year programs)

Applicants may attend a university or technical college.

Applicants may attend a Wisconsin or out-of-state institution.

Primary consideration will be given to students ranking in the second or third quartiles of the class.

Financial need of the applicant should be considered, but is not a primary consideration.

Applicants must have attended Ithaca High School at least since the start of the applicant’s senior year.

Only current school year seniors are eligible for consideration.

The Ithaca High School Scholarship Committee shall determine the scholarship recipient.

DISBURSAL OF FUNDS:

The recipient must use the scholarship funds within one year of receipt of the scholarship.

One-half of the funds will be dispensed during the first semester of attendance. Student must provide proof of registration and attendance.

Student must be a “full-time” student at the school of attendance for both the first and second semesters of attendance.

Student must show proof of attendance/registration for the second semester and a first semester grade report with a minimum 2.00 GPA to claim the second half of the scholarship funds.

Student not meeting the conditions listed above shall forfeit any unclaimed scholarship funds and may not reapply.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Open to Ithaca seniors planning to enter a career in the teaching field, recreation, sports medicine, or natural resources. If in the teaching field, priority will be given to students pursuing a degree in physical education, health, or driver education.

Applicants may attend a public/private university either in-state or out-of-state.

Both the academic qualifications and financial need of the applicant shall be considered in the awarding of this scholarship.

Applicants must have attended Ithaca High School at least four semesters (continuous attendance at Ithaca since the beginning of the junior year).

Only current year Ithaca high school seniors are eligible for consideration.

The Ithaca High School Scholarship Committee shall make the selection of the scholarship recipient from the qualified applicants.

Applicants must use the local Ithaca scholarship application form to apply for this scholarship.

DISBURSAL OF FUNDS:

The recipient must access the scholarship funds within one year of receipt of the scholarship.

Funds will be disbursed to the recipient upon showing proof of registration for the second semester and be a student in good standing at the institution of attendance (a minimum GPA of 2.00).

Funds for this scholarship will be placed in the Ithaca Scholarship Fund by May 15th with dispersal by the Ithaca School District per the requirements of the scholarship.

If the student does not meet the conditions listed above by the end of the second semester of attendance, the student shall forfeit the scholarship and may not reapply.

FRANCIS AND BETTY DURST SCHOLARSHIP

SOURCE OF FUNDS:

Interest earned on a $10,000 trust donation established via a CD, or similar investment fund, in the name of the Ithaca School District by Betty and Francis Durst. Principle funds are invested with the Westby Coop Credit Union (Richland Center).

Co-signators at this time are Cheryl Richards and Meredith Wallace.

RON CLARY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Ron Clary Memorial Scholarship was established by the family of Ron Clary from memorials received by the family.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

>Applicants must be current year high school seniors.

>Applicants may be attending a trade school, technical college or 2/4 year university.

>Applicants may be planning to enter any field of training/study.

>Applicants must have applied and been accepted at a trade school, technical college or

2/4 year university.

>There are no grade point average or class rank restrictions to apply for this scholarship.

>Financial need of the applicant is a consideration.

>Students may attend either in-state or out-of-state.

Scholarship disbursal:

>Funds must be used within one year of the student graduation from Ithaca HS.

>Funds will be disbursed following the successful completion of the first semester of study.

>Student must show proof of a 2.00 cumulative GPA for the first semester of attendance. If unable to achieve a cumulative 2.00 GPA for the first semester, a student will be eligible to receive the scholarship if the student can achieve a 2.00 cumulative GPA at the end of the second semester of study, with funds disbursed for the beginning of the third semester.

>Student must show proof of registration for the second semester.

Application process:

>Students will use the local Ithaca HS Scholarship Application form to apply for this scholarship.

>The local Ithaca HS scholarship committee will forward the names of eligible applicants to the Clary family. The Clary family will select the recipient of the Ron Clary Memorial Scholarship and forward the name to the Ithaca Guidance Office.

>Grandchildren of Ron and Barb Clary are not eligible for the scholarship.

ITHACA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

The IHS Student Scholarship has been established by the Ithaca Student Council to be awarded to Ithaca graduating seniors that meet the criteria set forth below. The scholarship is designed to encourage students to attempt post-high school training at a university, technical college or trade school.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: $100.00

NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE AWARDED: (1)

CRITERIA:

Applicants must have at least a 2.00 cumulative GPA to be considered.

Applicants should display qualities of leadership.

Applicants should be active in extracurricular activities.

Applicants will not be considered that have an extracurricular/athletic code violation on record. Students that have been suspended or expelled may not be considered for this scholarship.

Applicants must be eligible for graduation.

Applicants must be planning to attend a post-high school education program on a full time basis.

Applicants may use this scholarship to attend schools outside the state of WI.

Financial need is not a prime consideration for this scholarship.

SELECTION:

The selection of the scholarship recipients shall rest with the IthacaHigh School scholarship committee.

Applicants will apply for this scholarship using the local scholarship application form.

PAYMENT:

Payment of the scholarship will come following the successful completion of one semester (copy of grade report) and proof of registration for the second semester.

Student must have at least a 2.00 GPA for the first semester of study and have been a full time student.

ITHACA EDUCATION ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship has been made available to the graduating seniors of Ithaca High School by the members of the Ithaca Education Association. The scholarships are the IEA members’ way of rewarding applicants for being involved and hardworking students at Ithaca High School and to serve as an encouragement to attend a post-high school program of study.

Amount of scholarships: $100-150 each

No. of scholarships to be awarded: 1-4 scholarships

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Applicant must have applied to and been accepted at a technical college or university.

Applicant is not restricted to any particular university major or technical college program.

There are no grade point or class rank restrictions.

DISBURSAL OF FUNDS:

Student must show proof of satisfactory progress (2.00 GPA or higher) in a full-time course of study for his/her first semester at a technical college or university.

Student must show proof of registration for the second semester in a full-time course of study at his/her technical or university.

Failure to achieve at least a 2.00 GPA (based on 4.00 scale), or to register for the second semester, will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.

Student must provide proof of registration.

MELVIN HARPER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is given in loving memory of Mel Harper by his family. Mel believed that the future would belong to those who were trained/educated and willing to work for the better things in life. To that end, Mel always encouraged his children to make the most of their abilities and expand their educational horizons.

The scholarship is in the amount of $100. This scholarship is open to any graduating IthacaHigh School senior that is planning to seek further education and training at a technical college or university within the state of Wisconsin.

Eligibility requirements:

A minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 3.00 based on a 4.00 scale.

Applied to and accepted at a Wisconsin technical college or university.

Student demonstrates the ability and determination to succeed in his/her chosen education/training program.

Financial need

Local Ithaca Scholarship Committee will select the recipient of this scholarship.

Eligibility for disbursal of scholarship funds:

Recipient must be a full-time student according to the regulations of the school of attendance.

A minimum post-secondary cumulative GPA of 2.50 based on a 4.00 scale.

Proof of registration for the second semester.

Scholarship must be used within one (1) year of being awarded.

Community service, good citizenship, and character values will be of high priority. Good academic standing and financial need will also be considered in awarding this scholarship.

Applicants must have had Mrs. Walton as a teacher or as a cooperating teacher (team teacher in 1st grade).

The Ithaca High School Scholarship Committee shall make the selection of the scholarship recipient from the qualified applicants.
