RESPONSIBLE TO: Duty Manager

MAIN PURPOSE OF POST

To provide a welcoming environment and a professional Front of House service.

To ensure the comfort and safety of patrons and staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The potholder must, at all times, carry out their duties and responsibilities to comply with Borough polices/procedures.

1.  Under the supervision of the Duty Manager, to work as part of the Front of House team, duties will include; checking tickets, ushering, serving on the bar and ensuring front of house is presentable to the public at all times.

2.  To assist patrons before, during and after the performance.

3.  To be responsive to emergency procedures, including knowing the evacuation procedure.

4.  To be helpful and friendly at all times. Oversee the general safety, welfare and behaviour of the public, to prevent injury, misuse and damage to persons and property, and to report to the Duty Manager any immediate concerns.

5.  To sell alcoholic drinks and other refreshments and to accurately operate a cash till.

6.  To undertake training in respect of Health and Safety, to include First Aid and Fire evacuation training.

7.  General cleanliness of internal and external areas.

8.  To assist as directed in the processing of advertising and marketing.

9.  To be knowledgeable about and actively promote details of forthcoming events

10.  To be aware of, and implement, the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy.

11.  To be fully conversant with the Council’s Department’s and Section’s Health and Safety Policy, and in respect of such be fully aware of the personal responsibilities thereto attached.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

To work flexible hours to suit the operation of the organisation - to include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Maybe required to work a split day to satisfy organisation needs.

To work as requested from/at any premise within the organisation / department.

Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities

Essential

·  Ability to communicate effectively with members of the public and staff.

·  Punctuality and reliability.

·  Cash handling

·  Ability to assist in the implement of the venues rules, quickly and effectively, for example in the event of accident, disturbance or fire.

Desirable

·  Ability to operate tills and basic catering equipment.

·  Previous bar experience.

·  Dealing with the public.

Desirable

·  Previous venue/ audience experience.

Qualifications

Desirable

·  Basic First Aid Certificate.

·  Customer Care training.

·  Personal Licence holder
