Introduction

Admin & Finance staff are crucial to the success of UTC@MediaCityUK. Working as a key part of a dedicated team of professionals, admin & finance staff will be responsible for promoting a culture of achievement and excellence throughout the UTC. We are looking to appoint an innovative, dynamic Admin & Finance assistant to join us and become a part of our dedicated and passionate team of staff. You will be responsible for supporting all areas of school admin & finance and some student support. You will have high expectations of pupil behaviour and establish a consistent level of discipline, maintaining productive and respectful relationships with students.

Principal Responsibilities

·  Project administration

·  Budget management

·  Administration of personnel, recruitment, selection, appointment and induction

·  Ordering and invoicing of goods and supplies in the UTC

·  Fielding telephone calls

·  Receiving and directing visitors

·  Updating the UTC website

·  Use of parent pay for collecting money from students

·  Effective use of the finance system to include entering invoices and purchase orders

·  Booking lettings in conjunction with the Facilities Manager

·  Word processing

·  Creating spreadsheets and presentations

·  Filing and faxing

·  Extensive software skills are required

·  Internet research abilities

·  Strong communication skills

·  Data entry and analysis

·  Student support

·  Enrichment support

Other Responsibilities

·  Comply with health and safety rules and legislation, ensuring the safety of students and staff at all times;

·  Support staff and student recruitment;

·  Attend meetings as required;

·  Attend open evenings, parental events, progress review meetings and other dedicated activities as required;

·  Be fully aware of, understand and act upon the duties and responsibilities arising from legislation and guidance in relation to child protection and safeguarding;

·  Act in compliance with data protection legislation in respecting the privacy of personal information;

·  Comply with the principles of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in relation to the management of UTC records and information;

·  Undertake other such duties as are commensurate with the post and which may reasonably be required by the Principal or your Line Manager.

Person Specification

Essential / Desirable
• GCSE English & Maths or equivalent at Grade C or above. / ·  A level or equivalent.
·  RSA or equivalent qualification in office practice.
Qualifications
Experience / ·  Experience working with the general public.
·  Experience working in a confidential environment. / • Experience of working in education.
·  Previous finance experience in education
Knowledge and Understanding / ·  Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite 2007- 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
·  Proficient using Microsoft OS of Windows 7 and up.
·  Proficient using internet for research and communications.
·  Fast and accurate keyboard skills.
·  Proficient in creating professionally presented reports. / ·  Good understanding of databases – including ability to use databases to produce reports and statistics.
·  Experience of using database.
