Enquiries about Results and Access to Scripts
If you are not happy with your results there are various options open to you, but please note the following :
- In the majority of cases Results remain the same after re-marks
- Marks can go DOWN as well as up, so check with your Subject Teacher as to where your marks stand in relation to Grade Boundaries. If you are close to the lower boundary your re-mark could tip you into a lower grade.
- Grade boundaries are scrutinised carefully by the Exam Boards and so even a one mark difference may not change after an Enquiry.
- Re-marks are most likely to be successful where there is a glaring difference between your expected mark and the actual mark as it is probable that some mistake has occurred.
UPPER SIXTH :
- If you have a University place awaiting your results :
You will need to send in a Priority Service 2 Enquiry about Results. The deadline for this application is Friday 22ndAugust. The sooner you send in the Enquiry the more likely you are to get a prompt reply. You will not be able to see a copy of your script before deciding on a Priority Enquiry.
LOWER SIXTH : (as you are returning there is no urgency)
- If you definitely want a second look at your marks :
You will send in a Service 1 or 2 Enquiry. The deadline is 18th September and
so this can be processed once you return to school.
- If you are not sure about sending in an Enquiry:
You can ask to see a priority copy of your script. The deadline for asking for a copy of your script is 22ndAugust. Complete the Blue Form. The scripts will be in school on or before 10th September. Once you have seen it you can then decide whether or not to send in an Enquiry before the deadline of 18th September.
- Do not fill in any forms for re-sits. You will be given an Entry Form for the year in due course. This will include any re-sits you wish to take.
- If you are nottrying to decide about an Enquiry, request a non-priority script copy (pink form). The Exams Office deadline is2ndOctober, 2014.
