POST: Neighbourhood Caretaker (Tree Maintenance)

SPOT SALARY: £17000

SERVICE AREA: Neighbourhood Management

JOB PURPOSE:

To deliver the tree management service to ensure a customer focused and hands-on approach which results in high levels of customer satisfaction.

To work with partners, service providers and other departments and contribute to delivering the Successful Neighbourhoods Strategy.

To provide an excellent service which puts communities at the heart and which improves neighbourhoods so they become or remain “successful.”

To ensure customers sustain their tenancies for as long as possible by identifying risks and providing or signposting customers to services and products which will support them.

RESPONSIBLE TO:Team Leader for Tree Services

RESPONSIBLE FOR:No staff

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Carry out tree inspections.
  1. Complete and record risk assessments on each site before work commences.
  1. Carry out tree work such as pruning and felling.
  1. Maintain all equipment to a high standard and in good working order.
  1. To undertake additional training as required.
  1. To contribute towards improving tenancy sustainability by using approaches which address customers’ vulnerability issues and which improves customers’ quality of life.
  1. To contribute towards the prevention and reduction of anti social behaviour in accordance with Calico policies, procedures and targets.
  1. To assist in the identification, as appropriate, of any initiatives that will assist in creating Successful Neighbourhoods.
  1. To respond to queries from staff and provide advice and assistance in order to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
  1. To assist customers who are unable to undertake their own grass cutting or gardening maintenance and advise on the creation of low maintenance gardens etc.
  1. To identify and report problems of untidy areas or fly tipping to the appropriate organisation.
  1. To monitor any incidences of empty or abandoned properties and to report these to the appropriate Neighbourhood Officer.
  1. To report any repairs/faults to neighbourhoods and properties to the appropriate person
  1. To undertake COSHH assessments as required.
  1. To develop and sustain day to day working relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  1. To attend and act upon the results of neighbourhood inspections, including building up a strong working relationship with the Neighbourhood Officer and where necessary working with partners to deliver services.
  1. To use neighbourhood dashboard and profile information to understand neighbourhoods and to make suggestions and deliver actions which will help neighbourhoods become more successful.
  1. To improve the environment by acting upon the results of neighbourhood inspections.

General

  1. To undertake any other duties which are deemed appropriate in relation to the grading and responsibilities of the post.

  1. To adhere to all HR policies and procedures relating to being an employee of Calico.
