Common requirements to files for digital print

1. Files can be created in the following programs:

Corel Draw 7-13, Adobe Illustrator 7-CS2, QuarkXpress 3-5,
Adobe Photoshop 4-CS2 and saved in formats: ai, eps; cdr; qxd; psd; tif; jpg, pdf

(with a correct make up on A3 format, considering non printed area)

2. Files are to be saved on PC (file name should be in English and it should have an enhancement after dot)

3. Files should be saved on the following media: СD, MO(230; 640), zip(100), flash card

If files are written on other media, you need to bring a reader to it and a connecting cable.

Printing-house does not take a responsibility formedia left in the office.

It’s necessary for you to know the file name and path to it.

4. Files created in Corel Draw should not contain special effects, such as: Shadow, Blend, Power Clip and so on. Files created in Adobe Illustrator 9-CS2 should not contain such effects as well. Pictures with these effects should be exported to rasterized image with resolution not less than 300 dpi, and after that imported back to the source file and saved in TIFF format. All objects should be in CMYK colour space.

5. Fonts used in a file should be curved ore saved in a separate folder.

6. If it’s a QuarkXpress file all raster and vector images should be saved in a separate folder as well as fonts (fonts should be only of TYPE 1 or OPEN TYPE).

7. Files created in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint should be made up for A4 or A3 format considering non printed area.

8. Files in DCS format are not taken in work.

Common requirements to files for offset print

1. Files should be saved on the following media: СD, MO(230; 640), zip(100), flash card

2. Make up should be performed in PDF files, QuarkXpress (up tu 6.5) or InDesign (up to CS 3)

3. Size of a page should correspond a size of a ready printware after cutting. It is necessary to have bleeds at least 2 mm. from each side. Important information should beat least on the distance of 4-5 mm. from the edge of the page.

4. Rasterized pictures used in the file should be in TIFF format (or Photoshop EPS, binary data), with resolution 300 dpi, in CMYK colour space.

5. Vector data should be performed in EPS format, saved from Adobe Illustrator (up to CS 3) in CMYK colour space. All fonts should be curved.

6. If you want to print colours different from CMYK colour space use Pantone Matching System.

7. Don’t trap the file by your own if it’s not necessary.

8. All fonts used in QuarkXpress or InDesign should be saved in a separate folder. NEVER USE SISTEM FONTS (they are installed with Windows or MacOS).

9. It’s necessary to have a printed version (black and white or coloured one).

Common requirements to files for broadside print

File is to be:

-saved as TIFF or EPS

-in CMYK colour space

-with layers if the colour correction is to be done

-text is to be curved

-resolution – 150-200 dpi

-you should have a color reprint of the file or a preview file.

You need to sign thetestcopy of your edition.
