Position Description

Position Title:Regional Tenancy Administration Coordinator

Level:Level 4

Department:Infrastructure and Civil Works Division

Position Reports to:Regional Housing Manager

Position objectives:The achievement of the principle objectives of the position within the context of the council’s strategic plan by providing a high level of support to the Regional Housing Business unit.

Program objectives:Operates under the direction of the Director of Infrastructure in accordance with the Shire Councils Corporate plans, policies and relevant legislation.

Division objectives:To provide a high standard of housing and project services to the community, supporting the housing maintenance and infrastructure needs of the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and efficient support to Tenancy Management and Community Housing Maintenance Teams region wide.
  • Provide administrative support to the Regional Housing Manager.
  • Training of new Community Housing Officers.
  • Tracking and Invoicing jobs, generating and following up on Purchase Orders.
  • Evaluate and Report on Senior Community Housing Officers/Community Housing Officers within the community they work.
  • Assist with costing of jobs.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure Occupational Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Ensure the policies and procedures of the Shire are adhered to and all resources effectively deployed.
  • Produce reports when required.
  • Carry out any other duties associated with the position as required by the Regional Housing Manager.

Selection Criteria

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to participate as part of a team and to work cooperatively with Council Executive, staff members and peers in achieving objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Proven effective administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills,
  • Ability to utilise a range of computer programs including AMPRO or similar maintenance management system, to produce reports, correspondence and presentations.
  • Sound knowledge of the principles of Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Hold a NT class C Licence or the ability to obtain.
  • Have or can obtain a White Card and First Aid Certificate.

Appointment Conditions

This appointment is a full time permanent position and the appointed applicant will be required to undergo a Police check. The position holder must be willing to adhere to Councils Code of Conduct, Conditions of Employment, Policies and Procedures.
