Monday, August 18 (Red ) & Tuesday, August 19 (White)
Note: As a rule, it’s good policy to always review what we did last class. So get used to glancing over last the assignments page first.
Open “History of the Computer” .pdf document. Located in Ch 1 folder. Scan and review. Lecture, discussion & note taking will follow.
Pay $10 technology fee & sign multiple receipt forms
Open the textbook and read Chapter 1, Sections 1.1 – 1.9, use MS Word to answer Chapter 1 Review Questions 1-17. Type out the entire question and answer the questions as concisely as possible.
Then save your new word document as “Chapter 1 Review Questions”. Store it in the Ch 1 folder (See directions below)
To start your electronic filing system:
1. Click on “My Documents”.
2. Create a new file named “Computer Applications”
3. Create a new folder named Ch 1 files and place it in the above folder.

Wednesday, August 20 (Red ) & Thursday, August 21 (White)
Everyone SHOULD have a flash drive at this time
§ Sometime this class period, we will set up or printers.
§ Complete CHAPTER 1 REVIEW QUESTIONS #1-17
§ Read Chapter 1, Sections 1.10 – 1.15, then roughly sketch a picture of the whole computer system and label the components. Use can use the MS Paint program, if you know how and can do so quickly. Look at the Word document labeled “Parts of the Computer” in chapter one files if you need help. When you’re done, I will review answers and check your papers.
§ Create STUDENT FOLDERS. Legibly print your name one of the folders located on the bookcase. (Last name, first name)
§ Open the file Chapter 1 Review Questions. Continue reading the sections 1.10 – 1.25, answer review questions 18-19, 21-25, 27, 29, 34, 39-40, 43-48, 49, 51. Resave.
§ Quiz next class period. (Computer parts and random chapter review questions)
§ When completed with all assignments, play with the computer parts jigsaw puzzle (in Ch 1 files)

§ If necessary, complete remaining Chapter 1 Review Questions from previous class.

§ Review all Chapter one review questions
§ Continue setting up STUDENT FOLDERS. Explain grading procedures. Read step-by-step directions located: Pdrive/Krysinski/Student folder info.
· Complete Crossword Puzzle No#2 ---- Due next beginning of next class.
§ Chapter one test next class period. Bring #2 pencil. Format: True/False, multiple choice and some fill-in-the-blank. Please study your notes and handouts. This will be extremely helpful.
