POSITION TITLE: Para National TeamCoach

SUMMARY:

Part time position for providing coaching services to Para National Team and Para Junior National Team members during training camps and Para tournaments in the US based on the Para National Team program/budget.

The applicants should be US residents or have a work permit for US andbe willing to submit to and pass a background check. The position reports directly to Para Program Manager under supervision of High Performance Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Work with Para National Team Head Coach and Para Junior National Team Coach with Para National Team and Para Junior National Team’s training program based on the USATT approved budget.
  2. Help Para National Team Head Coach and Para Junior National Team Coach to coordinate the individual training of the Para National Team and Para Junior National Team members.
  3. Provide coaching during the training camps and ensure that Code of Conduct expectations and guidelines are followed.
  4. Consulting with personal coaches of Para National Teamand Para Junior National Team members and together develop the training plan for each Para National Team and Para Junior National Team member.
  5. Other duties as assigned by USATT staff.
  6. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  7. Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
  8. Ability to maintain professional appearance and behavior.
  9. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to ParaNational Team members, Para Junior National Team members and others associated with the USATT.
  10. Be able to participate in all Para National Team/Para Junior National Team camps and tournaments in the US (documented medical and family emergencies may be grounds for valid absences).
  11. Must be USATT memberingoodstanding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Coaching certification/degree recognized by USATT
  • US residents or to have a work permit for US
  • Willing to submit to and pass a background check
  • Proven track record in the development of athletes, strength in strategic and tactical coaching at the international level, elite training techniques, Para athlete training, knowledge of the ITTF/PTT classification system, organizational expertise, and leadership skills.
  • In addition, candidates are expected to have a thorough understanding of basic athlete disability physiology,sport psychology, nutrition, sports first aid, and biomechanics.
  • Knowledge and acceptance of USATT’s and US Paralympics organizational roles and abilities.
  • Knowledge of ITTF/PTT rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards for wheelchair athletes
