Position Title: ConsumerLoan Closer

Reports to: Consumer Loan Manager

Category: Non-Exempt

Status: Regular Full-Time

Position summary:

Prepare, assemble and verify closing documentation; ensuring timely closings and meeting all regulatory compliance. Review and interpret loan presentations, commitments, contracts, closing conditions, title commitments, and insurance requirements.

Tasks:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Interact with members via Smart Office technology, Internet, telephone and e-mail to explain loan products and services and close loans.
  • Answer telephone for the loan department, provide routine information, and/or route calls to appropriate loan officer. Take messages and coordinate follow through.
  • Review assigned Qs in central lending and internet platforms; make follow up calls to pending loan applicants; obtain documents to close loans.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the loan officer and staff, including updating loan data, processing letters, and assembling documentation for member loans.
  • Create membership account and loan, funding, and sending out welcome packets and welcome letters to new members.
  • Perform quality control review of issued loans on computer system and review loan paperwork for completeness, proper signatures, dates and other relevant data.
  • Tracking and scheduling loan closings with a quick turn-around.
  • Cross sell credit union products and services.
  • Expedite the loan process by contacting members to arrange loan issuance via electronic delivery channels- facsimile or e-mail or via expedited mail delivery.
  • Assist members and staff with loan related questions or issues.
  • Provide quality member service to members and credit union staff.
  • Review lending reports, analyze, and correct errors as directed by manager.
  • Assist Lending Department with projects and daily responsibilities as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook and system products including Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, and Meridian Link.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills necessary.
  • Periodic lifting of up to thirty-five pounds may be required.
  • Bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling and reaching above and below the shoulder may be required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in lending or financial institution preferred.
  • Knowledge of consumer lending and loan products.
  • Thorough knowledge of TFCU’s products and service.
