Position: QualityEngineer
Responsibilities:
- Applies knowledge of Quality Systems Regulations in carrying out responsibilities, which includes the responsibility of review and approval of processes.
- Develops, implements, and maintains cost-effective Quality System procedures consistent with corporate, government and international regulations.
- Leads quality improvement projects that drive continuous improvement through utilization of tools such as DOE, Six Sigma, DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, 8D Root Cause Analysis, and Lean.
- Develops, maintains and analyzes Key Performance Indicators to identify recurring trends and drive improvement actions.
- Leads investigations to determine root causes of product defects including field and internal failures.
- Applies appropriate control plans to achieve problem containment, and then drives corrective and preventative actions to address the determined problems and audit as required to verify effectiveness of actions.
- Develops and implements effective inspection, measurement and test equipment to verify compliance of product with specifications. Specifies plans and purchases such equipment when necessary. Assures calibration/maintenance, training, proper use and handling of equipment by personnel.
- Coordinate the disposition of discrepant material using the Material Review Board (MRB) system.
- Implements and maintains systems to report and improve quality. Maintains a complete awareness of the cost of quality and promote activities to monitor and reduce quality costs.
- Mentors Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians in the application and use of quality tools.
- Performs other duties as required by the Management.
Education/Experience:
Minimum BS degree in engineering discipline, MS preferred. Minimum of10 years experience as a quality engineer required. Experience with FMEA preferred. Proficiency in the use of personal computers and computer database software, including Microsoft Office applications (Access,Excel, Word and PowerPoint).Visio and Project knowledge desirable.
Other Requirements:
Must have excellent communication skills (written & verbal), organization skills, and a team attitude. Experience with electronic assembly preferred, electro-mechanical and mechanical assembly a plus. Must be able to identify and recommend effective solutions to problems, utilizing technical problem solving tools, and working individually and with others within and outside his/her function. Must have capability to review, analyze, summarize and interpret quality systems data, draw conclusions, make appropriate decisions and recommendations, write reports and give oral presentations.
