Position:MST Therapist

Homes For Kids has immediate openings for Masters Level Clinicians to provide intensive evidence based programming to juvenile justice/child welfare involved youth. Multisystemic Therapy(MST) is an intensive family- and community-based treatment program that focuses on addressing all environmental systems that impact chronic and violent juvenile offenders -- their homes and families, schools and teachers, neighborhoods and friends.

Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy and current licensure by the State of Ohio as an LSW, LISW, LPC or LPCC.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses the desire and ability to work with families and youth in a non-traditional therapeutic setting (home and community based) and within the context of a flexible schedule (whatever it takes to meet a family’s needs).

Candidates must demonstrate an ability to intervene with families, a willingness to adhere to the MST model of service delivery, and have some experience in the mental health field or working with the identified client population.

Position Duties:

Provide MST services to juvenile court involved youth and families in office, home and/or community in Geauga and/or Ashtabula Counties.

Conduct MST assessments including review of referral information, key participants, systemic strengths and weaknesses, and analysis of the fit on problem behaviors within an ecological context.

Engage primary caregiver and natural supports in active change-oriented treatment. This includes developing a therapeutic relationship with youth and families, providing MST consistent interventions and services, and providing therapy within the family unit.

Work collaboratively with representatives from juvenile court, child welfare, schools, and other community organizations on behalf of youth and families with the ultimate intent of keeping youth with their families, in school, and free of new charges.

MST Staff work collaboratively with a team of fellow MST professionals, regularly participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, case consultations, training and quality assurance steps, and work flexible hours (including on call duties).
