POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: COCKTAIL WAITSTAFF LICENSE: No
(BMRC Casino Bar – Full Time)
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage Department GRADE: 2 ($4.50-6.75)
REPORTS TO: F&B Operations Manager STATUS: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Operations Manager, the position provides efficient and high quality cocktail service to all guests of the Bay Mills Resort & Casino.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Takes customer orders, serves drinks, and collects monies in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Continuously monitors assigned area for guests requesting beverages.
- Collects order from bartender, places beverages on tray, and serves to patron with cocktail napkins.
- Responsible for the receipt of monies and the settlement of guests’ checks.
- Requests identification from customers when legal age is questioned.
- Removes empty or dirty glasses and cans and returns them to the bar or kitchen.
- Completes all required set-up duties on time.
- Provides exemplary customer service to all patrons of the organization.
- Must punch in and out at the beginning and end of each shift using electronic time keeping system located by employee exits.
- Responsible for arriving to work station on time, wearing proper uniform.
- Cuts off customers who have consumed too much alcohol.
- Must attend all mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Manager, including TIPS.
- Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position’s essential functions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand. Occasionally the employee must squat, push/pull, and crouch with frequent bending. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
2. High school diploma or equivalent and one year experience in high volume service restaurant desired.
3. Requires the ability to record orders and enter as required into the point-of-sale (POS) computer system.
4. Must posses a personable, customer service attitude along with organizational ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance and speak, understand and write in the English language.
6. Must have excellent past work and attendance record.
7. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this position description.
PREFERENCE: Preference will be given to those of Native American descent.
