BASIC SUMMARY:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  The Director of Logistics and Facilities is responsible for directing and delegating activities and assignments for all Delivery, Logistics, and Facilities operations in Washington State. This role has responsibility for planning, implementation and leading improvement initiatives and for providing leadership and direction to:
·  Logistics Manager who is responsible for:
o  The maintenance, licensing and day-to-day operation of all company owned vehicles including all classes of commercial motor vehicles
o  The management of the Transportation Planners (Routers) and the RoadNet routing software
o  The co-management of the Drivers’ portable handheld delivery devices and printers
o  The management of the driver uniform program
·  Driver Manager who is responsible for:
o  The day-to-day management of all Driver Supervisors and all Delivery and Transfer Drivers
o  The maintenance of all DOT Driver Qualification Files
o  The co-management of the Drivers’ portable handheld delivery devices and printers
o  The day-to-day contact with the Union Business Agent and Driver Shop Stewards
·  Puyallup Office Manager who is responsible for:
o  The management of the Receptionist and Office Assistant
o  Organizing and managing all employee special functions and events
o  The cleanliness of the Office facilities
o  The ordering of office and warehouse supplies
o  Producing employee photo security badges
·  Security Supervisor who is responsible for:
o  The management of the Security Specialists
o  The management of outside security companies who provide uniformed guards to multiple Washington locations
o  The operation and maintenance of all security systems including camera, access control and alarm systems at multiple Washington locations
o  The daily monitoring and tracking of all called in Driver delivery discrepancies
o  Carrying out investigations as required
·  Company owned facilities including:
o  Manage the relationships with current facilities’ Landlords
o  Work with Real Estate Brokers to identify and obtain locations for new facilities and oversee the buildout of new facilities
o  Act as the liaison between the Legal Department and property owners to help facilitate the execution of Letters of Intent and Leases for new facilities
o  Oversee all utility and facility services billings and control all related expenses
o  Arrange for and manage all facility services including, but not limited to, landscape maintenance, snow removal, security, construction and repairs & maintenance and monitor the performance of all service providers.
·  Responsible for department resources including authorized headcount, budgetary development, and compliance.
·  Lead a team of managers by providing mentorship, leadership, and teambuilding.
·  Support senior management by creating weekly performance reports, headcount, and executive summary reports.
·  Oversee the training and evaluation of employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product.
·  Accountable for strategic and tactical planning under the guidance the VP of Operations within areas of responsibility.
·  Develop a "world-class" team through process/system change and personnel development.
·  Manage daily departmental metrics, accomplishments; identify and resolve potential problems.
·  Track productivity data and implement programs for improvement.
·  Operate in an efficient/cost conscious manner so that all budgeted objectives are achieved.
·  Promote a culture of continuous improvement within Delivery and Logistics by retaining and developing world-class diverse talent.
·  Work with Sales, Internal Operations, and the Warehouse departments to develop and promote “best practices” and process improvements for cost savings and to increase efficiency.
·  Work directly with VP of Operations, Human Resources, the Union, and Non-Union employees to develop policies and practices.
·  Responsible for adequacy and assessment of areas of risk for Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) related to logistics and the facilities.
·  Assist with the implementation of department and company-wide goals.
·  Work with VP of Operations and Legal to find, develop, and establish new facilities and locations within the state, ensuring contractual obligations and timelines are followed.
·  Works with VP of Operations to administer system policies and develop long-range goals and objectives.
·  Plans, conducts, and directs assigned department compliance with DOT and corporate policies and procedures.
·  Work with established and resourced vendors on property and facility improvements as needed.
·  Directs logistical support of pricing efforts as required for Business Development.
·  Comply with Southern Glazer’s, State, and Corporate Policy & Procedures.
·  Support, maintain, and manage policies & procedures for the following: security & loss prevention and safety & risk.
·  Proper management of inventories inclusive of allocated items, end of year inventory stock and active inventory.
·  Formulation of spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations to accurately communicate with staff and senior management
·  Other duties as needed and assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Equivalent Experience
EXPERIENCE:
5 to 10 years of experience in Logistics Management, Facilities Management, Operations and/or Sales Management and/or equivalent industry related experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
·  Knowledge of FMCSA Safety Regulations and CSA program.
·  Advanced knowledge of transportation, freight forwarding, and supply chain management
·  In-depth knowledge of logistical administration and cost controls.
·  Knowledge of related Federal and State legislation and regulations
·  Basic knowledge of Facilities Management
SKILLS and ABILITIES:

·  Excellent analytical skills needed to effectively oversee and implement multiple strategies.
·  Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
·  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
