ArtOps provides a customized suite of managerial services for non-profit arts organizations to help foster organizational development and capacity so that arts organizations may reach their full potential. The ArtOps LLC, wholly owned by Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings, was formed to clarify the relationship between the performing ensemble of DCWS and the collaborative business model. About the Apprenticeship

The Digital Marketing Apprenticeship is a year-long professional training experience for aspiring arts administrators. They will have practical learning experiences, independent and collective projects and work as an entry-level staff person. The apprentice will be taking on a lead role in a major new initiative called the High Wire Lab, a project to promote contemporary classical music in the region. The apprenticeship is ideal for recent graduates of arts administration, marketing or nonprofit management programs or someone looking to transition into an arts administration career.

Time Commitment

The Digital Marketing Apprenticeship is a full-time position with a year-long commitment. Hours and length of commitment are flexible for the right candidate. Some evening and weekend work required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute creative social media and email marketing campaigns
  • Update websites
  • Attend events to take pictures and post on social media
  • Develop social media, email, and website platforms for the High Wire Lab
  • Help produce video, audio, and written material for digital behind-the-scenes content
  • Assist with other marketing initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Administration, Marketing, Business, Nonprofit Management or similar degree
  • Have completed an arts administration or marketing internship or have some work experience in the field
  • Passionate about digital marketing
  • Interested in arts and culture
  • Desire to take on project leadership roles
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some graphic design experience
  • Some web design or html experience
  • Video editing experience
