Poplar Tree Pirates and Brookfield Breakers (6/24/08)

It was worth the wait! After postponing the meet on Monday thanks to lingering thunderstorms, our swimmers came out strong on Tuesday. This was the first meet for many former Pee Wee swimmers and we’d like to welcome them to our Pirate family! Congratulations to all our Poplar Tree swimmers who competed, especially those Pirates who recorded 86 personal best times versus Brookfield. Four swimmers dropped more than 20 seconds in events on Tuesday: Ted Ellis (-22.01 in 8&U freestyle), Lexi Rickard (-89.52 in 6&U backstroke), Akil Giri (-25.01 in 9-10 breaststroke) and James Pierce (-27.41 in 13-14 IM). Those are amazing statistics!

Many thanks to those families who continue to give freely of their time to support our fabulous swimmers. Thank you especially to Molly Craig and Victoria Young, and Kelly Cummins and Lisa Robinson, who responded to our pleas for marshalls and clerks of course. B meets don’t run without countless volunteers and these ladies went above and beyond for us on Tuesday.
